Since Her Name Is Nicole got pushed back from November to January, PCD alum Nicole Scherzinger needed a fresh single to gain steam for the album’s new release date. The brand new and unusually-sounding, Puakenikeni, should turn a few heads, but in case you’re wondering, it’s Nicole’s favorite Hawaiian flower. As if the title wasn’t exotic enough, Nicole adds vocals from Jamaican duo, Brick & Lace, and a dance hall-worthy beat from their boss, Akon. (I wonder if she got an in house label discount?) Once this flower (I’m only spelling it once) starts to blossom, expect it to be a definitive chart-topper in early 2008. Her Name Is Nicole will be available in stores and online January 29th.
Brick & Lace make this song. I like them. Nicole S's camp tries so hard to push her and she's just not doing it for them. I forsee that this song will get play... but not for long.
I agree with DjRoyale, if brick did this song without nicole it would be a whole lot better. It hurts me to say that cuz I'm lusting like a mug for Nicole. Her first single was the sh*&T. I hope she has more tracks like her first single.
Some artists are meant to break away from their group's for a solo career and others are not. It sounds like the jury is still out on Nicole S. As long as I am not asked to say that title 5 times fast, this is hot.

I give her props for trying to get out on her own but nobody is going to take her solo after being in PCD. She just needs to stick to that because she ain't getting no where
The song as a whole sucks (even Brick N Lace, but I like them and Nicole in general!), but the beat DOES kinda make you wanna get up and wind and dance all sexy... after about three drinks...at the white club.
