The building is cold and sterile. You slowly walk the white halls until you reach the common area where all the patients come to play. Some are Scrabble champs, others mindlessly drool at Small Wonder reruns that play on the static filled screen. All of a sudden there’s a ruckus; it’s none other than the lone female schizo in the psych ward, Nicki Minaj, who’s being taken over yet again by Roman Zolanski, and this time he’s gone mad! He doesn’t drop names as to who he’s so pissed at, but apparently the b*tch is from Brooklyn, and he’s exacting Roman’s Revenge. Out of nowhere, the most talked about and feared bipolar patient in the building Eminem unleashes his alter ego Slim Shady, who continues his tradition of bodying anything he breathes on, including this Swizz Beatz produced track that coincidentally sounds like something he would’ve made for Busta Rhymes, and whose unspoken presence lurks the halls of this asylum. It’s clear Slim and Roman have set the spot ablaze with punchlines from every direction, but is it enough to make us fly over the cuckoo’s nest on Nov. 22 and pick up Pink Friday?

Nicki and this production work by Swizzy make me nervous (Z looks to see if someone is standing over shoulder). Aside from the terror-filled, haunting baseline, though, there is a lot to like her - like Eminem, whose deranged thoughts fit the mold of this record very well. Nicki's debut should be quite interesting.

I think the "It's going down...basement" metaphor style is lazy and weak. Nicki demonstrated here just how old it can get.
Eminem's flow was ok, but his lyrics were on point! He was the only good part of this song. On another note, first time I heard the "mispronounce then correct yourself" was Fabolous on "Diamonds on My Damn Chain" in April of '07. It was undeniably clever then, but it's gotten old now. Was Fab the originator? |

Am I the only one who @*#$! loves this shit? Nicki and Em both came off strong and I'm really digging Swizzy on the boards for once. This may not be a classic by Eminem standards but, by Nicki standards, it doesn't get better than this. I'll give it a 4.5.

Roman's punchlines were weak compared to Slim's! I could definitely see Busta ripping a third verse here. Swizzy came through on this production.
If Nicki had pulled a 'Monster' style verse, she might have beasted Eminem. But then again, I doubt that'll ever happen. Solid offering. |

The most emotion in the song should go to Swizz's beat. From the build up to when it finallys drops and just bangs. Nicki sounds tried as Roman whoever but at least she was entertaining. Em was good but dissapointing from what I expected.
When did Em all of sudden start doing so many songs with YM? Is he going work with Tyga or Birdman next? |

Continuously impressed with how much excitement and ENERGY that Nicki brings to every track she touches. I really can't understand the haters when they complain that she's annoying, Nicki Minaj is truly a talent that will be around for a while.
As for this song, my feelings are echoed completely. Nicki snapped over this and Em went off hard. I can't even say who did better here because it wouldn't be fair to the other, but I am very excited to bump this in the ride and pick up Nicki's debut. |

I like the verses, somewhat. This track gave me hope for Nicki because it showd that if she stopped rapping in her little 12 year old voice she can spit hard. It gave me hope for Em as he decided to spit like his old self. It really brought back good memories of how good he once was. Then it slammed be back into the harsh reality that he still isn't very good. As far as the beat goes, this is an embarrassment to Swizz it's an awful mix of stupid sounds from the synthesizer, to the random sounds that are just terrible put in this song. It'll be cool on another beat but for me this isn't worth listening to because of this beat. Really Em, you want to spit on a beat that should be on Toy Story 4? meh, at least I know now that Em still has hope.

As I wrote elsewhere, you're going to either hate this or think it's incredible. There's really no middle ground. That's just the kind of strong response that Nicki inspires. Personally, I have to lean incredible. She's obviously heavily influenced by a young Busta (word to "Scenario"), but is that really such a bad thing?
Oh, and apparently Swizzy can make a different beat. Who knew?

I love Nicki but I must say...I don't think she was needed. Her verse was at best OK!!! Em on the other hand...killed it. I enjoyed the production swizzy did his thing. Others may disagree but I think a 4 stars rating is being generous. 2 stars for Em, 1 for Nicki (Like she cares, She still richer than me) and 1 for the production.

Nicki's first verse was terrible, and the second was pretty on point. I think Eminem's verses top most of the material on Recovery; I like it. The hook was annoying, but the production was solid. Swizz has always been a solid, hype-beat maker.

First off, I'm surprised nobody (other than DJ Sandman) has mentioned the strikes taken at Lil Kim in my opinion, second verse was Kim murder. Anyways on to the track itself... I personally like seeing (hearing) this side of nicki, em was his usual killer self and Swizzy did his thing here. A bit surprised at his production style this time around. 4.5 stars as I don't see a classic but a solid track on my playlist nonetheless.

Of course a Swizzy production...the air created is jumpin and Nicki and Em of course have somem swanky cuts. With her crazed lines and Em's possessed thoughts they could down to the underground scene and cause some havoc. It does make me think of the UK grime scene and kinda make me change heart to it. |

2 Stars goes to Eminem and 1 Star for Swizz and the beat. My theory is that Eminem decided that instead of battling Young Money, he would just do songs with the leaders of that crew and show how so far advanced he was in comparison. This was a layup for him. I'll give Ms. Minaj an honorable mention assuming she is behind the dungeon dragon homage but I would much rather hear Busta Rhymes in her place.
