I don’t know what could have driven Nick Cannon to question his celebrity status (Concussion? Existential crisis?), but I don’t think the man has anything to worry about. To paraphrase an oft-quoted dictum on the recognition of waterfowl: if you jump like you’re famous, drink like you’re famous, dance like you’re famous and marry Mariah Carey like you’re famous, then you’re probably Famous. Jokes aside, an insanely obvious premise never stopped a single from setting the dancefloor on fire, and the latest selection off the rapper/actor’s sophomore set should be no exception to the rule. Here, production crew Jump Smokers serve up an electro/house-informed instrumental guaranteed to get bodies moving as Nick parties in a manner befitting his V.I.P. status. Konvict Muzik boss Akon handles wingman duties, inviting a female clubgoer to share in his high-rolling lifestyle on the chorus. The energy is definitely there, but will Famous’ club appeal translate into anticipation for Cannon’s sophomore studio album, Mr. Showbiz? Wow. Nick Cannon! Let's just say it's definitely been awhile since i've heard any music from him, and i'm pretty sure the last song that i did hear wasn't anything close to techno. Nevertheless, this track isn't bad. Obviously gonna have success in the clubs, but other than that i can't really see this being played a whole lot on the radio. And i'm not too sure, but Nick may be a little better at hosting America's Got Talent than making music now-a-days.

If I'm not mistaken, I think this almost made it onto LASERS. A @*#$! awesome verse on top of this wack ass attempt at a chart hit is what constitutes half of Lupe's latest.

But seriously, if a rapper doesn't have enough respect for his skills to make his 8 bars understandable, I have no respect for him... And I was thinking Kanye's transformer-robot ish on MBDTF was bad.

Akon did his thing, production was good for what it was. Ultimately it's just not for me.
