New Breed - Get Away
Featuring: Sean Kingston
Producer: Raw Smoove
Album: 15 Minutes Till Fame
Label: Unsigned
Way back in March 2009, South Floridian duo New Breed stepped into the Booth with their debut promo single – a track which, contrary to its title, seemed to leave our readers’ minds decidedly un-blown. Today, however, Marvelous and Cez have returned to make listeners (females, anyway) an offer that may be too damn catchy to refuse. On newly-released single Get Away, Raw Smoove‘s sugary, synth-soaked boardwork (sampled from Madonna’s classic cut, Holiday) sets a retro mood as the twosome offer to fly a lucky lady to any locale her heart desires; whether her ideal vacation spot is Paris, the Bahamas, or the Moon, they’re prepared to foot the bill. While the lyrical theme is hardly new, Get Away‘s combo of infectious bubblegum-pop production, engaging flows and big-name guest appeal (courtesy of hookman Sean Kingston) make for a track with considerable hit potential. Will it be enough to score NB’s debut full-length, 15 Minutes Till Fame, a solid release date? I’ll leave it to Booth readers to speculate.

I literally fought this record for three weeks, on the fence about whether or not we should feature it here at the Booth. While the fellas rhyme on the song, Sean's sugary vocals and the uber-poppy production (and slightly cheesy Madonna grab) made this record a feature stretch. However, originality aside, its pretty catchy. Raise your hand if you cannot picture this on the radio? Exactly.
Not a personal favorite, but as they say "if it ain't broke, don't fix it." |

Even though the beat is a bit too poppish for me, I actually kind of dig this song. This has HUGE radio potential, I just don't see it living up to it.

who are these guys what is this beat and why do i like it.....ohhh yea, cause it follows the sean Kingston principal, take a poppy bubble gum type beat and mix in some happy go lucky abc type lyrics.....ohh wait the second part is missing. the chorus is the same but the main meat of this song is more edgy more ace hood type territory
..................and i like it, good job on production and great lyrics once again a hit with major radio potential, well kissFM i just found a new song too replace the "solo" track you kep playing over and over again 4 spins real coo |

Very friendly, catchy and laid back track. Wouldn't listen to this on a daily basis, but I must say I liked the verses on this one. Sean Kingston is over-rated. He doesn't really bring much excitement my way. This was in rotation.

Way too generic, and they're destroying a classic sample. I'm not impressed but such lack of creativity.

Wow...I actually enjoyed this!
Kingston always comes correct on the hooks...He pretty much is the reason why this will be on the radio. He just has that distinct sound that people enjoy hearing. Both of the guys in New Breed fit perfectly here...their speedy flows matched the tempo of the beat and allowed for an enjoyable track to listen to. I could see this being played throughout the summer all over the radio! |

Perhaps it is a little generic, but isn't that the formula for a radio hit these days? The verses were strong for this type of banger. I loved the sample. Great work Raw Smoove.

To each it's own. Kingston delivers his staple pop upbeat song. My opinion...Holiday is better left untouched but if someone had to re-make a Madonna song Raw Smoove and Kingston did it justice.
But this isn't Kingston's song, it's New Breed's... It's not my taste in music but I have my hand raised for radio appeal. Curious to know what else Breed has to offer. I just feel like anyone could have rapped this song. Great for the label curious if it'll be great for the rapper. |

this isnt exactly what i was expecting here. i thought the sean kingston chorus would be what it was but new breed certainly did as their name suggests and threw an almost streeet-type feel to this dominantly pop beat. ive got no problem with it!

Cookie cutter, but cookies are delicious. I'll try not to let me personal distaste for Kingston bias (he's almost sickeningly sweet) my overall feel for the track, especially considering New Breed really do bring something unique on the verses.

not a bad song, haven't heard anything else from New Breed but have a feeling they will be going the way of milli vanilli. Maybe it just sounds a little too pop.

It's alright.. defintely a cheezy radio song. LOL. I'm not a big Sean K. fan but he gives the song the edge that it needs to compete on todays radio market...

A well put together track for what they were trying to do, sure to catch attention in the club and across radio in the next few months. Both Raw Smoove and Sean Kingston improvise over the approximate tune and structure of "Holiday" nicely!
New Breed were lyrically competent and good enough flow-wise to rock out on this one. |

Has that summer and Caribbean feel to it. The flows fit well with the beat. Sean Kingston was alright on this one, might do well on the radio.

I kinda like the New Breed's material and having Sean Kingston on this will definitely put them on the charts and the radio. It's catchy of course and has a poppy vibe. Not necessarily something for the dudes to always be listening to but definitely the ladies. Good song for getting your name out there more though.

It's a pretty good song, but really generic. This is another song that'd do well on the radio.

The production is so recycled it's unintentionally funny. No reason to repeat at all. What's their input really?
