Following in the footsteps of Lil’ Jon, (Play No Games and Lovers & Friends), Paul Wall (Girl), The Federation (Happy I Met You), and Soulja Boy (Soulja Girl), the New Boyz are back to put a radio-ready R&B spin on the subgenre they helped popularize. On the follow-up to debut single You’re a Jerk, Legacy and Ben J let all the young ladies hoping to become their wifeys down easy, explaining that they need more time on the “scene” before any one woman can “Tie Me Down.” The Boyz find the perfect collaborator in Ray J, who, seeing that he’s currently casting for the second season of his reality-TV series, must have had to send Season 1 winner Cocktail a similar message. Produced by Jay-Nari, Tie Me Down is sure to get jerks and non-jerks alike amped for an album that will cover all the musical bases; Skinny Jeans & A Mic drops September 15th!

Wow. I wasn't a fan of the New Boyz since their song "You're a Jerk" caught on. I thought it was just another lame trendsetting song by an untalented group. And I know I always talk about underground hip-hop being the best, but I'm not gonna lie. I dug this. The hook was catchy and their flows actually sounded good. The auto-tune didn't even bother me. Makes me sound like a hypocrite I guess but whatever. Is this a great song? No. Is it worthy of a couple spins. Yes it is.

This was aight, I don't know why I didn't see it comin. "You're a Jerk" is a great track just cuz it's a catchy one that you can really get into and everyone knows... but it was obviously imo the New Boyz' one hit wonder. This track is not garbage, but nothin makes it worth listenin to more than a couple times. The autotune verses are boring and the beat and hook are cliche.

it's straight... i thought ur a jerk was straight too tho... i like the first verse... just like in ur a jerk... i guess i'm favorin that pretty one... but its radio worthy. i'll listen to it for a min.

Ray J is an overused hook singer and the New Boyz TOTALLY changed their direction with this one... but, it could work at radio. The auto-tune 2 seconds in was a bit of an overkill, but we'll see if these guys have longevity if this manages to stick.

yo yo, this is nice son. smooth flow, smooth chorus and a catchy beat. New Boyz got some decent lyrics, great creativity, and mainstream appeal, which should keep these guys in the biz for some time. Im gettin a feelin this album goin to be a quality banger too.
btw, i cant believe Ray J already let Cocktail go. She is bangin hot! Hey girl, if u still lookin for a relationship im down! |

I LOVE this song! The production is on point, the verses are raw, their voices are actually clear on here, overall a banger!

This is HOT!!!!
Could of done without the auto-tune but it doesnt take much away from the track!!!! I thought New Boyz were just gonna fade away as a one hit wonder but this song has gave them hope!!!! Your A Jerk is that song you get tired of quick but when you hear it on the radio you find yourself singing along!!!! |

this follow up is perfect for them! they are proving themselves lyrically, and ray j's hook is real tight...liked this track for a few weeks now and hope this isnt a sophomore single flop for the new boyz!

Typical!!! You expect this, Any time a hot fad teen group breaks through with a Hit, you always always always follow that up with a safe chick based track. Rather its for her or against her, it has a beat she can listen to and it addresses her. I'm tired of these basic ass formulas RECORD COMPANY!! ( Think "Soulja girl" after "Crank that") This song isn't bad, its a safe light track following the success of "You're a Jerk"

I Like this song. It's something new, something different. lol i can understand why they call themselves the New Boyz. i believe in the next year or two New Boyz is goin to be doing it real big in the game and they're already heading on that track. This song is a great follow up to You're a Jerk, it gives the people a chance to hear New Boyz a lil bit more lyrically.

The first time I heard this song I wasn't a fan. Maybe I was just hating on them because of "Your a Jerk" but it didn't seem great. Since then it's definately grown on me and is one of my favorite songs I've heard these last few months.
