After the minimal pop-funk of Hot N Fun, the smoky rock grooves of Help Me Live, and the chill European sound of the Daft Punk-produced Hypnotize U, N.E.R.D. fans have undoubtedly been rubbing their hands together in anticipation of another dope surprise. Well, “your dreams have now been fulfilled.” True to its name, new single Party People is a straight-up musical celebration featuring a brassy, clattering beat and a chanted chorus that calls to mind MJ‘s “Mamase, mamasa….” hook on Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin’. Joining Pharrell, Chad and Shay on the guest tip is none other than… well.. T.I.P. Clifford “T.I.” Harris lets his freaky side shine on the back end, lacing the beat with flows as hyperkinetic as his subject matter is hedonistic. Does this party-ready banger make you want to get “Down! Down! Down! Down!”? Then you can look forward to a whole lotta Nothing on November 2 (aka Election Day – remember to vote!), when N.E.R.D.‘s fourth studio album arrives on record store shelves via Star Trak/Interscope.

The Neptunes reinterpretation of an MJ classic featuring one of the most adept emcees in the game today (good thing they got this verse done when they did) - excellent.

Great track. N.E.R.D. is always making familiar but still different music. So it makes sense that would take a MJ line and spin it. I love T.I. on here, just the only bumber was that it was too short. But his flow and delivery was crazy and just upgrades the song.

Records like these are always impossible to rate on my headphones. I've heard tracks I wasn't feeling, then heard booming out of club speakers and realized, oh yeah, this is the ish. Considering it was made to pack a dance floor, my money's on this tearing the club up.

T.I.'s part is too short for me; but he still killed it.
The MJ reinterpretation is a bit annoying after a while. But the overall vibe is enjoyable nonetheless. |

This song has an obvious NERD sound to it which is a GREAT thing. The production on here is nice. This is a nice joint that people of all ages can appreciate. TI KILLED IT! Decent rotation track. Nothing crazy hot to me...

N.E.R.D. is exceptionally talented and creative, but annoying as well. Production is nice and TI blazed it for his quick cameo, but overall it kinda gives me a headache
