While plenty of MCs from the East Coast, West Coast and Midwest have adapted to the popular southern sounds of Houston, Atlanta and Miami, the same cannot be said for the Bay Area’s regionally popular Hyphy movement. In fact, if you ask listeners outside of the Oakland/San Francisco area to name an artist who is responsible for the Hyphy sound, many would simply not know. Informed and well-versed, St. Louis rap pioneer Nelly wants to correct that problem, showcasing three Hyphy legends on the appropriately titled, Bay. In honor of rappers Spice 1 (first verse), Too Short (second verse) and E-40 (third verse), the St. Lunatic tactfully imitates all three delivery styles, delivering a surprisingly unique track. Nelly will drop his long-awaited Brass Knuckles on June 24.

I think the production/beat on here could use a little work. I'm not feeling the flow of the song. Not really feeling the sound of Nelly. He dumbed down his over the top flow and I'm not sure how much I like it. It's just OK.

damn..diss song is by far the worse song i've ever heard by nelly. This song is shit, lyrically and production wise. Come on nelly damn, from what ive seen, this will be his worse CD of his career, which is sad since hes had half a decade to do it.

This is just kind of weird...Nelly making a Bay song. This has the hyphy sound to it any everything, but I gotta give Nelly props bcuz this fake bay song is hotter than a lot of other real bay songs I've heard. This should not be a single, but rather a good filler on his new album.

Wow...Nelly really must be desperate. I have to admit that he imitates the hyphy sound really well for someone from St. Louis, but he does really think that this is going to help his album? I'm from the Bay myself and the reaction for this one is going to be mixed. Some cats are going to bang this while others are going to wonder what gives Nelly the right to do a hyphy record?

I'm a little too young to know anything about Spice 1, but Nelly kills his "Too Short" and "E-40" verses. This is definately something new from Nelly. I feel like a guest feature from Keak da Sneak would've worked well on here.

THis jawn has a nice chourse and a hypey beat but i dont like his flow on this and i think this couldnt really get much radio play but at least he informed us about the Spice 1 neva heard of him before and i like the way he raps like the people he is honoring in his verses

This song mainly gets a 3 for the beat. The Droop-E beat is pretty hot. Nelly does an interesting job imitating bay legends. A remix wit some of the Bay Area rappers would make this better tho. Nelly by himself, although interesting, makes this song more weird than good.

Tell me is just me. Tell me he didnt sound like Fergie in the begining. Please... What's up with Nelly's flow?! :s That repeating thing on the beat is anoying. The chorus is the only thing kinda hot.
