Neako - LOUDERPack
Artist: Neako
Producer: Neako
Album: The Sinner & The Winner
Label: LVLYSL / iHipHop Distribution
Last we heard from DJBooth Freestyle alum Neako he was roaming DJBooth’s pages like Warren G and Nate Dogg, ready to Regulate and telling every hater he encountered along the way Wzup. Now the New Jersey native is back and…um…. well….ok, so I can’t think of a good pun for his new release LOUDERPack, but that doesn’t make it any less dope. For the song’s worldwide premiere Neako pulls double duty, jumping behind the boards to craft an electro influenced, minimalistic beat topped off with some live flute playing from the fantastically named Fluter Scooter (no, I didn’t make that up). Fittingly the vocals are every bit as spacey, alternating sharply between heavy distortion and openly hostile and high-caliber rhymes. Love it or hate it, you haven’t heard anything like it. Finding yourself reaching for the volume and turning this one up louder? Then you’ll want to keep an ear out for Neako’s newly-titled album The Sinner & The Winner (previously known as YP5), dropping on DJBooth on February 7. Maybe by then my pun skills will be back up to par.

The saying "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." is hella cliché, but it usually rings true in music. What does this have to do with Neako and his new record? Well, for starters, "Louderpack" sounds a lot like past songs we have featured from the Jersey emcee. But, it is different enough to stand on its own two without being directly compared to any previous works.
Will it be an earth-moving song? No, but it has a dope video accompaniment and fits nicely into the sound/style Neako has built up. |

idk, i feel like a small twist in the beat is needed because his voice is not blending right.

this beat sounds rough. I'm not liking what he did with the mic.

Obviously this will draw Cudi comparisons, but only in the most general sense. I don't think anyone would say he's copying Cudi. Instead, he took a risk and really stepped out of the box. Not every risk completely succeeds, and I'm not sure the distorted mic was ultimately the best call, but I've got nothing but respect for creative music. Respect.

Its is a bit unusual and has that Cudi/Good music appeal (plus with his dolo/solo line in the first verse one could think he is actually biting of Cudi). The persian theme is definately out the box. This track is a nice listen.

not to bad, but probably won't be listening to it again. Not sure what it was about the track, might have been a mix of the beat and the mic. might be for some of you guys just not me. keep my eye out for more music from him though

He's not ready to produce his own music yet, and it shows on this track.

The production is really great from himself in this. I love when they produce their own work. Its real talent. |
