Skilled singer/songwriter Ne-Yo has released two major albums and both have been certified platinum in the U.S.. With worldwide sales totaling over six million copies sold and publishing credits for platinum releases from Beyonce, Mary J. Blige and Mario, Ne-Yo shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon. Currently working on his forthcoming, as-yet-untitled third studio album, the Arkansas-born singer has leaked the potential new single, Closer. Unlike most of his previous singles, Closer is an up-tempo joint that should move his fans directly to the dance floor. Forced off a tour with R. Kelly earlier this winter, Ne-Yo will join Alicia Keys as she treks around the country this April - stay tuned for more details.

I'm a huge Ne-Yo fan, I'm feeling this, but I'm quite certain there's a slow version of this. This track actually sounds like a sped up club mix. But obviously this is devoted towards the club scene. Either way, I'm anxious to see what comes forth from his new album.. he never disappoints.

Damn this is a definite new direction for Neyo. I'm feelin the techno'esque vibe to it. It'll be on my new mix... a remix should already be in the works. There are so many hot R&B club joints coming out right now the competition is looking tough. This is the most upbeat joint we've heard from Ne-Yo and he has the skills to pull off this type of vibe. Nevertheless, he succeeds fully on warming love tracks. This is still a really strong performance, not a bad choice for a first single.

This is real good. Ne-Yo is taking a whole different approach. I'm definitely digging it! Reishm4, I understand what you mean about it sounding "fruity". You probably feel that way because the techo-esqe type beat is resemblant of so many club/dancehall tracks that usually are very popular in Gay Clubs. But all that aside, Ne-Yo did his thing here. Mos defintely!

By the way, Ne-Yo is actually suing R.Kelly for kicking him off the tour. He still wants his promised money!!! But I think this track is definitely something different for Ne-Yo and I am going to give him credit for trying something new. This would be a good radio track. His voice is good on here (sounding like the Great MJ more and more each day). The beat is nice and smooth too.

This is the effect Ne-Yo has: when the song first started, I actually said, "What the f@%* is this?" - by the end, I was bouncing in my seat. And this is NOT the first song of his that (in my mind) started off monkey-balls and totally hooked me by the end. And THAT'S a sign of true talent - anybody can have someone else write a hot song and let it be their one hit, but an ARTIST can take something that's outside the box and pull you in before you know what's happening.... I loves Ne-Yo. LOVES him. Definitely in rotation.

I Love ne-yo!
His voice is so smooth... its relaxing in a way at times.. Definitly a track to listen to with the females =D lol, but seriouslly Ne-Yo is writing songs for a lot of people.. Hes gonna go far in my opinion.. |

WOW it actually has a somewhat techno beat to it yet I have to give it a classic/5. well it reminds me of a michael jackson song. well anyway though I'm still tryin' to figure out how to dance to it or how he will but not bad. If your gonna turn a techno song to more hip hop this is the way to do so.

i agree this does sound like a sped up club mix until you get to the bridge well kinda still does at the bridge but you understand why its fast ... this sounds like its suppose to be a slow joint .. but i dun under stand why this is not called "i just cant stop" ? "closer"? lol.. but i love neyo
