When we think of rap group Naughty By Nature, we instantly think of the good old days when hits like OPP and Hip-Hop Hooray blasted through the airwaves. Now, fast forward more than a decade and the group sounds a little different than you last remembered. With their new single Get to Know Me Better (Ecstasy Mix), Naughty, with the help of Mr. 305 Pitbull, hope to become a household name again, and I literally mean house. Produced by B!nk and Naughty By Nature, the first thing you’ll notice is an electro-house bass production that may catch a few off guard. With heavy synthesizers and a singy hook that will remind you of an electro club joint, this is definitely a new look for NBN. Lyrically, NBN does what they do best over the club record, spitting about fine ladies and their plans to rendezvous with them by the end of the night. With their new album Anthem Inc set to be released later this year, do you guys think this is a good direction for the New Jersey rap veterans to go?

When I think back to the good old days of hip hop - the early-to-mid 90's - Naughty By Nature certainly comes to mind.

Having kept their classics in my iPod to this day, the mere idea of a record like "Get to Know Me Better" caught me off guard. Not that this record is bad (club crowds will probably eat it up), but I believe longtime fans will have a very hard time adapting (ask Three 6 Mafia's original street fans). And since I am a longtime fan, I fit in that grouping.

NBN is definitely going out on a limb with this type of song. Lots of people have been going the electro route lately and in some cases it is a smart move. Club songs sell, just ask Gaga, Jason Derulo and Taio Cruz. People love this type of music, but I think they just missed out on this one.

It has a very typical techno beat and is something I would expect from a Tiesto and Guetta jam, but not NBN. I love electro-backed songs, but this one isn't doing it for me. Not saying NBN can't do this type of music, but this was a swing and a miss.

The electro beat is okay, but I really didn't expect to hear it after clicking the press play. Been awhile since Naughty By Nature has popped up for me and I really think they should go back to their old ways.

Aside from being completely drowned in an electric, techno, non-respectable beat, Naughty By Nature didn't fail completely on this track. Pitbull was a nice addition to throw in , but the blow job line made his verse sound a little awkward to me. Hook was nice if only for the small vocal contribution... "ON ME." Not their best and definitely not my favorite.

Ouch, this threw me off. Being kinda ol skool I think I would appreciate it more if I didn't know it was a remix of Naughty By Nature's "Get to Know Me Better". Its a good club song though.

"I believe longtime fans will have a very hard time adapting..." - DJ Z

The man speaks truth. As a Pitbull/club track it's pretty damn good, but as a NBN track? I'm not sure I can get down. Still, who am I to stand in the way of innovation. Good to hear you again guys, no matter how you sound.

Ultimately its a good song. Naughty could have come differently, but at least their verse was still what it was "content wise". I'm sure there will be more on the album to satisfy the taste of us that remember thier classics. Artists that have been out of the spotlight for a minute usually experiment with whats new but hopefully they realize that they have a ton of fans out there that want that classic Naughty By Nature.

The beat is nice, but the hook could be better. Pitbull sounds the best on this. Not a big fan of the lyrics.

This record suits Pitbull more than the legendary Hip Hopsters. That beat has Pitbull x Club rotation written all over it.

NO NO NO...if anybody from the "old school" I was excited about being back on the scene again, it WAS NBN. They are known for anthem...street anthem...hood music...NBN and Jeezy would have been a hell of a track. You mean to tell me that all these mega producers cant give these guys a beat that screams hood. GTFOH I just cant get with this and if I could I would probably vote it lower!

This song fits Pitbull more, I know they have to move on with the times but this is not a good look for Naughty By Nature.

OK, I hate Pitbull, now that I got that out of the way, let me say this: NBN is only doing what is custom of these old hip hop groups like Bone Thugs N Harmony (see their past features here on the booth for proof)which to adapt and survive to the times. Unfortfunatley its not what old hip hop and NBN fans like us want, but if they are to stay popular with this wack ass generation of music listners (age 14-17 mostly) then thats what there gonna have to do. I know it sucks.

I’m not exactly fond of this Remix but I’ll admit that it’s rather catchy for what it is. But I'll stick with the Original.
