The British R&B invasion on DJBooth continues as 17-year old singing sensation Nathan looks to expand his fan base stateside. Putting his best foot forward, he brushes off all the haters on his woman, stating that no matter how much success he achieves, he couldn’t Do Without Your Love. Producers Wayne Lawes and Rickardo Reid provide pearly keyboard production, which combines with Nathan’s vocals for a sound eerily similar to the combination of producer Stargate and Ne-Yo on So Sick. While Do Without Your Love was originally included on Nathan’s ’06 release, Masterpiece: The Album, the song serves as a bridge as he finishes his second album here in the states.
Its so weird to me that people from the UK have no accent at all when they sing. But anyway, this dude has a real smooth voice about him. I just don't know how well he will do in today's market with so many other rookie singers/songwriters coming out this year and last year. The beat on this track is smooth and crisp. I am feeling this track. It's written well and performed well. A banger...
actually he's not a wanna be, he's really good on a lot of his songs. and this song is pretty vintage, even though I still listen to it a lot. He's talented, not one of the best, but he's a good singer. Always give respect to the man dem reppin the UK!
Super production on this one. The kid has a great voice and it will only get better as he grows up and matures (see Chris Brown for further evidence of such...)
Good track and good singers. Great voice, has a little ne-yo and chris brown in him. He's definitely 'emulating' the american style of r&b, as UK r&b has traditionally been a bit different. But so far, it seems like he'd be well accepted here. Although he would definitely need a breakthrough track, since it's so easy to get lost in a sea of artists. This track has such a nice and chill flow to it; definitely works for me. I hope we get to hear more quality tracks from across the pond.
yo blaze, i b thinkin da same thing about da accent....like craig david...when he first came out i was like wat da hell?...lol i like him tho...nice song...
its a nice smooth track and for all you who are sayin its wack just arent RnB fans cause this is a nicely written song along with a soothing beat plus the other work from this kid is good too.
wtf? yall would prefer ne yo on this? are you serious? this dudes voice is great, and im not just saying that cos hes english. ne-yo's voice is not for every song, I was recently listening to his first album, classic, but, some of his songs on it just don't suit his voice. of course we dont have accents when we sing, neither do americans, aha ignorance again, you guys need to chill with these remarks about accents...like on that Kano tune with CD, its pathetic, why cant you guys listen to a different sound and flow? yall aint true music-fans if you cant accept other styles and appreciate them...no offense, but you are all captured in this american world where rapping about 'what Iv got' is all you know...every rapper from america talks about what hes got, and what we aint got. where as in england, its more about lifes struggles in ghetto's of London and also about lifes tragedies. talk about talent, go to England! listen to Kano and Wiley's battles on youtube, they would both murk the @*#$! out of any american MC besides Weezy and maybe a couple others. I just don't think you all like to look outside the box, where as us folk in England do...we appreciate what you guys bring to the table, and like it...where as you guys just don't even bother. you give some of it a try, but throw most of it away. its really annoying to keep seeing the same thing happen. Just so you know though, I love America and it's music, am not dissing you guys at all. Just wish you would open your eyes up a bit more, and see the talent in England as well as here, and appreciate it a bit more. damn that was a long comment, thanks if you actually read it.
I love this track! I Actually emailed this as a suggestion to dj booth to put on this site and im so happy its finally up! this guy has alot of talent, hes a great english r&b artist, and i agree alot with londonsfinest's comments! Im from Australia and i was on this song about a year ago, and have been hoping America might recognize some of the great talent that has beeing coming from outside the states!
yep i agree with dj blaze, even bout the singin with no accent thing. but neways, this song is nice. its cute and his voice sounds good; smooth and stuff, but not extra special or nething. hes so young tho, so he has lots of time to improve sum more and work more on his range and all that good stuff. hes a lil cutie tho
damn london finest u didnt have to take the whole damn website up with bull did u? u act like u know em. and it has ne-yo written all over it and i thinks he sounds funny. like he had to rerecord the track over and over.
ps. nobody cares about england london or paris just chill out its not that serious
Exclusive, aha typical ignorance right there at the end. i like how you consider paris and london the same, thats like calling the bahamas and orlando the same, you dumb mug. its alright though, I aint gonna stoop to your level, I will just keep writing about the music cos that is what djbooth.net is all about.
Hey everyone... keep it clean! We are all here for a reason, and that is the music! Thus the beauty of music, Hip-Hop especially; it can be enjoyed no matter where you are from. It is a universal bond. Okay, I'm off my soapbox.
Well I've read the discussion between Londons Finest and Exclusive, between England and USA...and I have to agree with Dj Z, we are all here to listen to new music and not to create a fight among different parts of the world! I am Italian and I think that sometimes you from the Usa or wherever are a little isolated in your own world and believe that we in Europe copy you...but I guess it's normal, just think that music connects everybody! What a amazing way to communicate!
