In search of a major label deal, Pena will need the right backing and support to Activate her career. May 47‘s dance floor-ready production, however, might give Natasia the push she needs to reach that finish line.
Not feeling the drums on this (don't get me wrong, I love bass-heavy songs but it doesn't sound crisp). She looks like Keisha Cole. It feels like she is reading straight from a book. But the hook brings out her enchanting voice. Da boss was alright.
I can see this song going crazy in the clubs. Ross flows well on here and the beat is very unique, kind of reminded me a little of Fergie's "Clumsy." I won't bump this personally, but I'll recognize it next time I hear it in the clubs
First off shes freaking me out in that picture with her hands there like shes trying to hypnotize me. As for this song I dont either dident really feel the beat here. Just needs a little work. 2.5
A lot of artists lately have been using the screwed voice in bits and pieces of their songs. Not sure if I like it or gettin sick of it. I really digs this beat. This song is pretty cool too me. Different and I like different.
Really like the beat but the beat seems to outpower her verses, not feeling that. Shes great on the hook though. I like the beat change for Da Boss he murks it, so I gotta give it a 3. Otherwise it be a 2
I'm feeling the beat and Rick Ross's part, but I don't like her!! she repeats only Activate Activate...as I've already written before, I hate it when they repeat the same word in the chorus, it's very annoying to listen to! I don't think I'll listen to it again...pity coz it could have been better
This isn't the first dance-oriented pop song that has featured the title of the song on 'repeat.' Its a formula people, and these artists (some, that is) have grabbed ahold of what 'works' and are going to roll with it until someone tells them otherwise. This will work in the club. Know why? Because in the club nobody cares what you are saying...
Yeah Z you are right, again! The "repeat" songs are perfect for clubs, they give beat and are easy to dance to. But in the Italian clubs there are very few hip hop/r&b songs, so I mostly listen to them with my mp3 player or via computer...so the repetitive chorus is really annoying to me
Naw. May 47's production sounds way too cluttered. That ruins the song. The mix is really trash too. Natasia Pena (who looks like Da Brat's high yellow twin sister) seems to have decent voice, but this track is really, really bad. Rick Ross was decent, but I swear, the production and mix kill this track. It's like the song was dude crawling on the ground at the end of Boyz n the Hood and May 47 was Ice Cube, just finishing the killing brutally.
Can't hear the words that well but I love the feel of the song. Beat is kinda original. a little more pop to me than hip hop but I'm lovin it all the same. Ross does his thing too.
