When Lil’ Wayne hooked up with Latin-Pop singer Enrique Iglesias for the song Push, the collaboration was met with mixed reviews. One reader proudly proclaimed each had “sold out.” Well, it looks like Weezy didn’t listen, because the rebel rapper appears on the remix to English-Pop singer Natasha Bedingfield’s current single, Love Like This. Co-written by Rico Love and Ryan Tedder (of OneRepublic), the original version of this record has reached as high as #17 on Billboard. For the remix, though, new producer Jim Jonsin scooped up Wayne, kept the original guest artist, Sean Kingston, and tweaked producer Runawayz’ beat. Bedingfield’s current album, Pocketful of Sunshine, was released on January 22nd off Epic.
I actually really like the original, was kinda blown away to find out it was natasha bedingfield voicing the track. The song lost a big of its 'liveliness' and soul with the slowed down tempo. For those who haven't heard the original, definitely give that a listen.
Oh @*#$!! Wayne is crazy to rap on this, and he killed it. That's why he can call himself the best rapper alive...HE KILLED A VERSE ON A NATASHA BEDINGFIELD SONG! Haha. You gotta love this. And the beat...Hold on I'm starting that verse over.
I was really surprised to find out that this was a Natasha Bedingfield track as well, Obecalp. The original song is a terrific record, filled with pleasant vibes that would make anyone feel good. This remix is no exception. Weezy's slow but complex flow works well with the different tempo and who would have thought Natasha and Sean would sound so good together? I really think this record should be bigger than it is, Natasha debuted on the charts today at only #3 with 50,000.
Weezy has collaborated with Enrique, Robin Thicke, now Natasha, and even Little Brother (no one saw that coming). Watch him jump on a Carrie Underwood remix next.
TONE+Chef: "slow but complex" is the perfect way to describe his flow! He does it a lot when he does pop and r&b verses. It's like you can understand every word so easily, but deciphering his word play is an entirely different story. It's genius.
I gave this a few more listens and went over the original again. And I have to agree with tonechef that they are equally good. The original is very upbeat, but this one has such a chill mellow tone to it and it is working for natasha. Though it could've used more weezy throughout the song and not just the intro.
I L-O-V-E WEEZY!!! Hez just got to that point were he can spit withowt tryin and still sownd like da man!! I really like this, Sean Kingston killz it again and NB is pretty good two.. don't like tha techno sownd in the background it kinda drowns out the song
The fact that Wayne has been asked to drop feature verses on so many records outside of Hip-Hop is really unthinkable. Its like an orthodontist being asked to perform plastic surgery and remove a wart-- neither are his/her area of expertise, but so damn good at what they do, it works out just fine. If you're confused by the analogy, e-mail me.
Hey, I was ready to hate on Wayne on this one, cuz I was like "He's on another one!". I personally have been getting tierd of Wayne on everything, cuz it seemed like he began throwing less than best verses just because he could and still come off straight...but he sincerely smashed this verse, no joke. And I must say, I must have been really sleep on Natasha Bedingfield, because she is a vocalist, no joke. I'm loving Sean Kingston's style on this as well. This is definitely a suprise banger.
OOOOOh! I didn't even read that Lil Wayne was on this track with her. He RIIIIIPS this! He made this song CRAZY Hot! The song is already good, and this just adds to the hotness of the track! Very well done! And Sean Kingston also sounds very good on this track! I am feelin it!
Yo Im sick of Lil wayne I dont care how much yall like him..hes annoying me now..So theres no other rappers out there..why you had to get Lil ugly as rat looking Wayne.. The song was better as the original..This remix was not needed.
RainaYagurl and WOW!!!'s comments are really ignorant. But I’ll try and make them useful by contrast: everything they say it’s the exact opposite of what happens in this song. Lil Wayne’s great verse is “slow but complex” as already pointed, so you won’t like it if you’re not smart. Natasha is a great singer, can’t find a reason not to like her. And if you can’t stand weezy bein on every song, then you shouldn’t rate’em, cuz your letting us know about you (your annoyance) and NOT about the song! 4 stars
this is a great remix but you can only expect that anything that wezzy touches is hot and im really felling the beat
(and tasha and sean do their parts lol)
yo i agree wit mostly errbody else...im really feelin this one...tha beat is more relaxed like it jus got a perm!...but i like both the remix and the original...i think they all did a good job on this one...~
Wayne's gonna stay on top of the music industry by diversifying his game like this. Sean Kingston is good on this track too. I like the collabo they all sound good together. Props to Natasha for branching out and taking a chance. (I would take my chances with Weezy on the track tho)
TALK ABOUT BLUE-EYED SOUL, THIS GIRL CAN SANG!!! THE ORIGINAL WAS SO FEEL-GOOD & SUMMERTIME, THIS REMIX IS MORE CHILL N VYBE TYPE OF FEEL BUT WAYNE KILLS IT & NB IS A SANGER WHO DOESNT GET ENOUF PROPS. SHE SANGS FAR BETTA THAN HALF OF THE GIRLS IN THE RNB GAME NOW...HER LAST ALBUM WAS MORE POP-ROCK & I STILL NOTICED HER VOCALS SHE HAD ME JAMMIN 2 "UNWRITTEN" NOW THAT SHE HAS SWITCH IT UP MORE TO POP/R&B I LUV HER EVEN MORE.HER NX SINGLE "ANGEL" IS A BANGER MAKE SURE YA CHK IT OUT.
Had2 come back and listen to more of this ITZ CRAZY!!!!!!!!! o and i totaly agree wif what "FredRico" and "extremerush09" hav 2 say.. also changing my rating, sori but this is HOTT!!!
She has an Amazing voice....I like the way they slow the beat down you can really get a feel for how great a vocalist she is.....Wayne dont dissappoint on this one at all...On the last note not hating on Kingston, Sean but Im not feeling him at all....shoulda gave Wayne another verse
rated that without making it through the whole song...Now that its finished got d a m n I gotta rate it again she blew me away with her vocals.....She should be selling millions of records
Had this rmx for awhile now! Like it or not this is gonna be a chart topper! Anyone else think her vocals on this almost sound like a adolecent Michael Jackson??? Well anyway this is gonna be all over the airwaves!
yo... tone chef... no beef... but u said weezy's gotta prove him self on a solo album... look at the Carter II... and if u listen to it closely, The Carter's got some pretty sick @*#$! on it... i wonder if u listened to the Carter III leak that dropped... wayne iz just to @*#$! nasty... not ta meantion he stays recording even when he aint workin on a "solo album"... itz impossible to keep up with hiz mixtapes cuz theres so many out there... but for any new up and comin wayne fan, i reccomend Drought 3, The Best Rapper Alive, And the Drought is over 5... theres alot of sick and lyrical @*#$! on those mixtapes...and fer any one who wants ta no... The Carter III is droppin May 14th... pick it up if u need proof that Lil' Wayne is the "best rapper alive"...
