Nas sure knows how to make an enemy. On his new track, Sly Fox, he sets his sight on right-wing media and really lets ‘em have it. No stone is left unturned in his scathing reproof, as he disses everybody from Bill O’Reilly (predictable) to Quentin Tarantino (who would have thought?). Even NBC’s To Catch A Predator gets knocked by Nas. Dead Prez’s stic.man, another outspoken critic of corporate media, lays down a live-sounding rock beat that sets the perfect ambiance for some good ‘ol FOX News-bashing. While nobody is really sure what to expect from his upcoming album, Untitled, I can guarantee that it will ruffle a few feathers when it drops on July 15.
Note: The streaming of “Sly Fox” has temporarily been suspended.
Nas is spittin the truth on here! Man...propoganda is everywhere; but I am not going to get into that. I am really liking the way he touches on pretty much everything going on in our lives right now! This is a CERTIFIED DJ BLAZE BANGER! Really good work by NAS...and the new mixtape is sick too...
I cannot wait until July 15th. It will be a good day in music history. This is a head-banger track. This album is going to be the best present for '08.
Hey what can I say its nas! I believe this album willl be one of his best. This song on that Black rock tip Blaze is talkin bout. I'm feelin it, but damn the beat, this is all about NAS hittin us with truth. Start thinkin out side the box? NAS is hittin um where it hurts. In a time when we need um to be more than ever. Thankx NAS! You the best!
Stic.Man makes a nice production on this one. This is straight knowledge-hop. "The fox has a bushy tail, and Bush tell lies in fox trots". He snapped with that. This is definitely than "no longer stepping on egg shells" music. Please listen to these words. PLEASE. I beg ALL DjBooth members tonight. LISTEN TO THE WORDS. Forget if you can dance to it or snap, crackle and pop. Listen to the doggone words! PLEASE.
Beat is out of the norm with today's hip hop's mainstream tracks and that's what caught my ear open. Nas came out the box swinging lyrically from start to finish. I don't agree with what he said on here but the feeling in his voice with confidence and conviction I lost my compass. This a banger..no doubt.
Production is GREAT, the ROCK FEEL made it for me! The WORDPLAY on this song is CRAZY! I’m with MichaelHannah, PLEASE, try to understand! “(Bill)O'Reilly, oh really, nO rally needed, I’ll tie you up!” “…I watch CBS and I see B.S.” Those were the ones I got yet, and loved! “...murder, murder, and kill, kill, then what about Grindhouse and Kill Bill?” I LOVE both movies, but that’s a good point, how can Nas be violent compared to that?! Nas touches so many issues I’m not sure everybody’ll know what he’s talking about. Nas’s flow has been so dynamic lately and the tension he puts in his voice on this throughout DEMANDS your ATTENTION!
I like the rockish beat (it was in another song of some days ago but this is way better than the other). I have to look for the lyrics because I know he is a great lyricist and this song isn't to dance but to reflect. So I'll give 3 stars to it, waiting for the lyrics
There are no words to describe this song. NAS is a great MC mainly bc he takes the risks and brings the BS to attention. I don't know about all ya but this song got me riled up! Beat is perfect for this song!
I guarantee this will be the best album of the year when it drops. I like the rock sounding beats when there done right. Nas is a beast on here. He always speaks his mind and he is about to make a huge impact in July
Barbo, the album drops July 15 (as it says in the intro blurb). This is Nas at his finest. The production is good, but he could have done this one a capella and still received 4's and 5's. Not a classic, but another solid contribution to this new album.
@*#$! MTV.. @*#$! TV period.. I havnt watched that @*#$! since NY Undercover. lol.. As for this song, this is as real as it can get.. Hip-Hop is not dead as long as people like NAS spit the truth. I feel he should have been mire aggressive for this beat though. Still.. This is a CERTIFIED BOBZILLA BANGER blah blah blah. lol... That @*#$! is funny..
should I jus rate this a 2 bc I'm a huge Wayne fan? Seems like a lot of people on this wall jus hit up the Wayne joints jus to hate. This sounds like the same ass NAS as always. A song that hits at heart right away but forgot bout tomorrow. But what would NAS be witout propaganda and advertisement? The same people that hate on hip-hop would prolly hate on Kill Bill as well. NAS is a great lyricists but this song won't be remembered as a classic by no means.
I hate to say this, but Nas, "Dumb it Down!!!" He's getting too much of an agenda in his music. Shooting at slavery with a history lesson, or hating on modern media. Hero is the best song I've heard so far cuz its about himself- with a great beat. This song sounds like some Immortal Tech ish. Wheres the "Life's A @*#$!" that made me love Nas?
You hear that Nas? They saying "You going over niggas heads Nas, DUMB IT DOWN!"
LOL...come on now. With all the fluff out here that's super dumb and watered down, how are you going to encourage one of the last artists still keeping it intelligent to dumb it down?
I think Nas can kill any beat you give em' cus he kills this rap/rock beat and speaks the truth on it. Hope his July release date didn't change cus this is one of my most anticipated albums this year.
LOL This is what the world is coming to man! We want our mcs to be numbskulls! If he ain't talkin bout himself we ain't interested. Selfishness, selfworship, sin and money. Pop Bottles everyone. Hip hop is not dead, its wearing drag! smh
I can't believe someone ACTUALLY asked a rapper to dumb it down... 0_o I thought that was just a joke, I mean, wasn't Lupe only being sarcastic?!? People ACTUALLY do that?!? ...
BayouSwag45.....U got someone better, make ur own list. That is Mayne's list. I got a Top 10 but you might get mad cause ur favorite rapper might not be on there.
Nas will always be Nas, see how everyone is hyped up over this album?.Ever since stillmatic everyone has always been impatiently waiting for the next Nas album
i'm with you Fredrico..i cant believe someone said the lyrics need to be dumbed down. In the state of HIP HOP at the moment. go listen to another typical rapper if you want lyrics you can EASILY understand..and WOW how the hell can you give this a 2 for the lyrics..ARE YOU HIGH..
This is the best song for me still. at the moment and its been out for months now
