Kentucky’s finest rap group Nappy Roots are back on the scene as independent artists after two successful releases on Atlantic Records. Before their new album The Humdinger drops in 2008, the sextet offered up the Internet-only release, Innerstate Music, this past July. Included on the LP is the smoker’s anthem, Who Got It Where’s It At, featuring Skinny DeVille, B. Stille, Ron Clutch, Big V, R. Prophet, and Fish Scales each taking a turn with the blunt, then passing it around in a circle. Whether you smoke or not, the low synth-sonar-harmonica heavy beat makes Who Got It Where’s It At the perfect song for that late-night cruise in your old-school whip.
I like what they did with the overplayed subject and totally flipped it. The melody is pretty catchy and the diverse styles from each member is very entertaining.
Haha, Nice mmoore1127. Honestly, it's too bad they aren't signed to Atlantic anymore, because now less fans will hear what a talent these guys are. This however, needs work.
