DJ Booth Exclusive Freestyle

The 30th entry in our DJBooth.net Freestyle Series comes courtesy of Nappy Roots, the Southern rap heavyweights whose last album, The Humdinger, was awarded four out of five spins by our resident reviewer, Nathan S..  On the group’s new, previously-unreleased That’s Right freestyle, members Fishscales, Big V, and B. Stille flow over an industry instrumental by Akon and Giorgio Tuinfort (originally from the Three 6 Mafia cut of the same name) .  Skinny & Scales, who contribute shout-outs at the beginning and end, are currently preparing for the summer release of their debut LP as a duo, 40 Akerz.  Watch for a free mixtape featuring entries 1-30 in our series to drop later this spring, and keep checking back with the Booth every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday for exclusive freestyles from all your favorite artists!

Despite working with artists on a daily basis on the business-side of things, we here at DJBooth will always be fans first. To have the Nappy Roots be apart of our freestyle series is unreal. Thanks, fellas.

Props to the crew of DJ Booth for getting a industry heavyweight to perform in the DJ Booth freestyle series.

Hopefully a few more big names will jump in the booth soon.

Loving this right here. I'm a big fan of Nappy but I never imagined them riding a Three 6 Mafia beat; very different from the usual style and they handled it really well. This isn't the best freestyle on the booth but it's certainly one of the more interesting ones. Right now, I'm personally loving Willy Northpole, Wiz Khalifa and K. Sparks' inputs the most but this is coming close.

Yea its amazing that the Nappy Roots are on here. I really enjoyed all "verses," even though I know each of them can do betta. But def still tight, tho.

Nappy Roots always come correct, evident here. As Juanito_88 stated, this isn't there best, but they sound good with the beat. Lookin out for that 40 Akerz project!! Keep It Nappy!

KA-BOOM! Nice big names for the freestyle series here on the booth...so sick - well done. Always liked this Akon instrumental and the Nappy Roots sounded great on this. While not the most technically superior freestyle (as compared to others from the series...) - this was just overall a great track.

If that 40 Akerz business is as good as that Humdinger, we're all in for a nice treat. Kentucky & Georgia represent!!
