Since showing off is one of the most overdone topics in hip-hop, some listeners might not even take the time to finish reading this blurb, much less hit the play button below. If you’ve taken the time to read this far, however, you should know that Detroit rapper Nametag has brought a touch of originality to his new single, Stylin’ On Em, choosing to bypass club appeal for spins in “the bars…the trucks…the cars.” Nametag benefits from his hometown connections, as well-respected underground rapper/producer Black Milk lends a beat. Maybe the topic of being “so fresh” can be fresh after all (sounds like a contradiction, doesn’t it?) Whatever the case, look for Stylin’ On Em to appear on Nametag’s digital exclusive, Courtesy of Ambition EP, which will be available online this fall.
Dude deserves a deal, but I don't like this particular style. Chorus is really weak, and the production could be a little more energetic or exciting, but just by listening to the song you can tell the man has got a good flow and can spit. Lookin forward to hearin more.
Gots to work on chorus its very weak but the verses are def nice..i dont understand how you flow that nice over 2 verses but the chorus is that whack...anyways, the beat is nice as hell...
Nametag blew me away when I first heard this song. The production starts off real hot, but then it gets rather unimpressive. That is why, for me, it was overly exciting to hear an emcee pick up the beat and really give a great performance. He certainly won me over. Let's hear more...
He has a good flow...the beat is good but after a while it's annoying, it's too "intrusive" I can't even listen to him! A good song which won't go in my mp3 player
The dude has lines! You will have to say that! I like the beat, though it's not real exciting. But he makes up for that with the wordplay. For anybody not feeling this, "Oh, you mad cuz I'm styling on you...PUNCH! LOL....remember that rap battle fiasco? LOL. Real heads know. Fake heads can search on YouTube to understand what I was referring to.
