After the #1 debut of his fourth studio album, Luvanmusiq, Musiq Soulchild doesn’t really need to change up the formula on his next project. Just like John Legend with his highly-praised new single Green Light, however, Musiq is experiencing a musical makeover. On Radio, the first official single off On My Radio, the Philly native loses his soulful. piano-driven vocals in favor of an ATL ‘1-2 step’ swagger. Sounding similar to Ray J and his sing-songy rap style, Musiq will undoubtedly win over plenty of clubgoers and radio listeners, but in the process might have abandoned all of his longtime fans. Stay dialed in…
I am not feeling this experimental phase that Musiq is going through ... I like his old style. Not a great selection for an official single. Hopefully, the album will have some old musiq flavor.
Reinvent time. This ain't MusiQ However this shit bangs like a mf. I feel like my man in conforming alil, I like the jazz version of him, if he gives us an entire album of this, it won't work, but just this one time, I'll buy this!
Regardless if this is his new style or not, this is a hot track. Now the lyrics aren't as deep as his other songs, yet he still enchants us with some poise vocals and sick beats. It's a banger for sure, just not a classic.
AY! This beat is hot! Everyone is reinventing themselves these days, like I've mentioned before. I definitely can rock with this almost more than some of Musiq's previous joints (aside from "Don't Change"). 5 stars with this one.
His voice is very good and he absolutely can sing, but I really can't stand songs like this. The beat is good but the hook is extremely boring...the music seems to be made by Lil' Jon, the type is that. OK
Ok I like this, but not happy it is Musiq. I like the whole neo soul aspect of Musiq. I don't have a problem with people changing a little bit, but not so much so that they lose what made them famous in the first place.
dis disturbs me for many reasons. one cuz its annoyin"put it on da radio"...ugh and two cuz its musiq. i feel like he's conforming not stickin to wat we love him for.
Wooooow! This joint is off the chain. I happened upon today at work and had everybody jukin'. Although, its not a good look for Musiq. I can't wait to hear the rest of the songs
This does not sound as good as it does live. I heard this last night at Essence and it was awesome. The track doesn't catch the feeling of the love performance.
I like musiq and his "normal" style of music, but i can appreciate when an artist tries something new. so i could rock this....as long as the whole album aint like this, cause i dig his vocals.
I've been down with Musiq from day one, since he had the Soulchild at the end. I can understand why some might not like the fact he's conforming(although non-conformity brings upon conformity, check it) but he just KILLED the R&B cats who are doing it like this. He's just letting the world know he could do it and make bangers, but I'm sure he's got his roots on the CD too. Just because it's one song doesn't mean his whole CD is gonna be like this. Haha, he's making Ray-J, The Dream whoever else you throw in there sound REAL bad...damn he's VERSATILE!
I DONE HEARD THIS SONG ON POWER 92 TOO,CUS THEY PLAYIN DAT HEAT,BUT THIS NOT A CLASSIC ONLY A BANGER! THE REASON IS IT'S ALRIGHT NOW,BUT THE FIRST TIME I LOVED IT! GO MUSIQ!!
Hot beat, real hot beat. I love this song and the way does his thing on this track. I think its a hell of change for the good. From Love to Radio. Its like he is a whole different artist. In any case it comes through my 12ves so it must be a banger
