Need a little help meeting your Recommended Daily Allowance of raw, lyrically paranoid underground hip-hop? You’ve come to the right place, my friend. Today, Cypress Hill member DJ Muggs and Non Phixion alumnus Ill Bill make their collaborative Booth debut with Cult Assassin, a single precisely as dark and gritty as the title would lead you to believe. Muggs sets an ominous mood with buzzing bass, choral vocals, and a few well-placed news-broadcast snippets. and Bill matches his partner’s spooky instrumental with some downright diabolical rhymes, lacing his verses with such pronouncements as, “They say that doomsday was written in an alien Bible in algebraic code.” Damn – while I have no idea who “they” are, it’s hard to argue with lines that dope. Assuming the Knights Templar and the Illuminati don’t team up to bring about the Apocalypse beforehand, fans will be able to find plenty more where this came from on the twosome’s Kill Devil Hills when it drops August 24, via Fat Beats.

A solid, if not spectacular hip hop record by two west coast vets. Not sure I'll be checking out their collabo album when it drops, but this effort certainly does turn me off from the idea.

Audio aggression, pure and simple. If a hip hop version of The Da Vince Code ever gets put out, this will be on the soundtrack.

I've frankly heard better flows from Bill, but there's no doubt that he still comes with it hard.

This track is too hard and too aggressive for its own good. I can't find a mood Id have to be on to listen to this track.
