Mr. Finley - Get Ya Hustle Up [Premiere]
Producer: DJ Toomp
Album: The Mothafoccin' Mixtape
Label: Ghet-O-Vision/Def Jam
As anyone who’s ever watched late night cable knows, there’s no shortage of people willing to hawk get rich quick schemes (for only five easy payments!), but if there’s anyone who should truly know how to Get Ya Hustle Up, it’s Las Vegas representative and DJBooth Freestyle alum Mr. Finley. Never one to play, Get Ya Hustle Up (making its worldwide premiere right here, right now), finds Mr. Finley letting the world know just how seriously he takes his money collecting, all over a quickly paced beat from T.I.’s frequent beat provider DJ Toomp. On the back end fellow rhymer TDK shares Finley’s hustling sentiments; it all adds up to a hypnotizing, banging and financially instructive track you’d be well-advised to let run through your headphones at least three or four times. I’ve left Vegas hungover and sunburned, but never rich. Maybe I need to hustle alongside Mr. Finley the next time I’m out in Sin City. Get Ya Hustle Up is set to appear on Finley’s hilariously named Tha Mothafoccin’ Mixtape, due to drop July 7, right here on DJBooth.

Never been a fan of "hustle," "grind," or "work" songs (they are simply a dime a dozen these days), but Finley actually has something to say and does so over a beat that anyone from Jeezy to T.I. would use on their next album.
If you dig this record, you'll enjoy plenty more from the Vegas native next month (trust us). |

woooooh this beat is out of control!!!
Mr Finley has a good voice and some good lyrics...average flow, but he has the type of persona that makes him very enjoyable to listen to. You believe what he says...which is a huge plus. This would of been a 5 star track if the engineer would have mixed the vocals better...smh if I could have mixed this song it would have been platinum shit, haha Overall great song...and the feature verse is fire |

It's not quite West Coast, it's not quite South, it's all Mr. Finley. The man's creating his own brand of hustle rap, and judging from the comments above, it's a brand hip-hop nation is eager to buy into. I had this one on repeat all day yesterday.

This is not the first I've heard of DJ Toomp obviously, but this is my first impression of Mr. Finley. I'm interested in hearing more. The Styx-esque sample is dope, but it's a little too repetitive to push this past regular rotation. Let's see what other features this project spawns.
