Holding down the status of a “major without a major deal,” Silver Lake, Los Angeles native and Chicano rapper Mr. Criminal is preparing to release his twelfth studio album, Rise to Power. Hoping that his many years of hard work will finally translate into nationwide success, the 26-year old has snagged better-known Latino MC, Fat Joe, for a feature verse on the album’s first single, Drop It and Rock It. As both artists show their ability to make it rain on the females, singer Fingazz and his vocoder (…it’s here to stay, so stop complaining) enhance the track’s chauvinism over a beat that will surely inspire some creative moves in the club. If bangers are your preference, Rise to Power hits stores and online retailers June 24.
Criminal's been trying to get exposure for the longest . Its hard for latino rappers to get recognized some really have skillz but they just don't bring it all the time this is a decent effort. out here in the southwest this definitly get air play but i doubt it''ll get play ne where else
Would probably only listen this in the club. Is djbooth.net trying to see how many songs they find with someone using a voicebox? I'm a little disappointed.
This man has dropped 12 albums. Man. Dang. That's vet status. For this type of music, it sounds like a solid track. Production is flame. It's not my type of track, but for what they were aiming for, it looks like they were successful.
I'm hoping this is the last Fat Joe song i hear on DJBooth for the rest of this week. This is a wannabe club hit and will do nothing on the radio or in the clubs. It will be one of those songs the DJ drops at like 9pm before anyone is even there. Fat Joe really needs to step his *hit up
Fat Joe NEEDS TO GO!! Joe is super weak and he turns a koo song into Garbage. Mr. Criminal is koo yo. i mite bump this in the car. but then again naw cus fat joe trashed this.
Heard this one the other day on Power106 but dont think it's a hit I agree with most everyone on here that Joe is whack on this but the beat is decent it hits pretty hard.Been a fan of Mr. Criminal for a while and he don't do to much club joints so this ones not his style.
yo i don't give a @*#$! whut people say if they don't like diz song cuz this iz a straight hit. in da club or in da car its a good song. Mr. Criminal iz da best chicano rapper alive. Its about time Mr. Criminal gets recongnized @*#$! all da haterz dat don't like diz song. It gets a 5 from me.
This is actually a good song. Beats are solid. You need to just listen to this song and not let racial lines stop you from like it. Song is industry meets mainstream needs. Check out you local radio station because it will more than likely be on their playlist. This will prove my point over time.
