Most listeners familiar with Montana Da Mac remember his summer ‘07 single, Rock On (Do The Rock Man) with DJ Unk, which gained spins shortly after the Shop Boyz’ Party Like A Rockstar earned the group its fifteen minutes. Though Fat, Meany, and Sheed have fallen off the radar since their lone hit, Montana is still building his buzz and has yet to release his debut album. Making sure he doesn’t fade into obscurity like his Southern friends, the Atlanta native reaches out to the ladies, specifically a Girl From The South, on his newest single. Listen carefully, however, and you’ll come to realize that Mac is talking about the Southern state of mind – Northeast, West Coast and Midwest women shouldn’t feel neglected. Produced by Matt and featuring Nephu, Girl from the South will appear on Mac’s Koch debut, Da Life I Choose.
haha jeez I have been listening to what I suspect is the first cut of this song for like 5 months...I gotta say I like the finished product more...great song...haha like his style cant just judge him by Shop Boyz.
I like the beat but I'm not sure about the song yet. I usually like this type of songs, they are catchy and immediate, but they are all the same after a while! Let's rate it 3 stars
