Back in August of ‘08, Monica released what she hoped would be her comeback single, Still Standing (also the title track off her forthcoming sixth album). Despite a guest verse by Ludacris and even a VH1 show promoting the record, J Records ultimately decided that its over-the-top style wasn’t fitting for her return to the scene, and thus the singer headed back to the studio for further brainstorming/recording. Fast-forward eight months, and the Booth is proud to present the official first single. Once In A Lifetime finds Mo pleading for her true love to return over a smooth piano beat by Jayo Ferrari. Complete with the mushy R&B sound we know and love, the record may remind some of Mary J. Blige‘s 2005 hit, Be Without You. Expect plenty more crowd-pleasing slow jams on Still Standing, which has yet to receive a solid release date from J Records.

Great track here but I personally enjoyed "Still Standing" a bit more. Hopefully this will bring Monica back onto the scene a bit; I definitely feel her old records. Now I'm just waiting on a Brian McKnight comeback and I'll be in full-blown 90's R&B mode.

this is coo, but i dunno bout an official no.1 single. i think it needs more energy or to be more powerful to really capture the listeners attention.

I love this production. For some reason, all the songs on the Booth tonight have better than decent production. And she has a very pretty voice, somethin different from all the Rihannas runnin around. Very nice. 4.3 stars.

Good for a slow jam prod, Monica's vocals are very nice on here ... but not so much for me ... Im all good with the Cici, Riri, Keri's up-tempo joints ...

Reaaaal nice album inclusion; not sure its single material. Always been a HUGE fan of Monica (she was talking about me when her and Brandy were fighting), so I hope she can make a successful comeback attempt.

Yea, this is a solid single for here to make her "comeback" wit. I liked her vocals, and the melody was pretty catchy. The production was perfect for a female-sung slow jam
