After releasing the snippet for Everything to Me, Monica’s fans took Twitter by storm with rave reviews, begging for more. Off of her upcoming album Still Standing, Everything marks the return of a sultrier Monica. Sampling Deniece Williams’ 1980s R&B smash hit Silly, Monica builds on the foundation of the original and makes a song for the modern lover just in time for Valentine’s Day. The production, courtesy of Missy Elliot (and co-producer Lamb), is the X-Factor for this track; Everything plays like the soundtrack to a sensuous ride in the tunnel of love, a ride Monica’s passionate vocals (written by Jazmine Sullivan) ensure will be a steamy one. To me, this would be a great album inclusion (not a stand alone single). But, Monica has matured and grown up and this is clearly her avenue toward a more sophisticated audience at urban-AC radio. Best of luck, darling.

Monica has never really impressed me since her voice doesn't have that WHOA factor. But this is a pretty descent track!! |

who knew missy was producing, she should get back to being an artist tho, cause these barbies are trying to take over the world...LORD saves us from the barbie plague...this gives me that late night 90's feel which puts me in a trace to sleep...its a sweet song but the transition drum is a lil annoying she use it to much but the break down is beautiful and monica is killing...this gives the "good men" in this world hope that every girl aint a cheating ass whores but there are down ass chicks out there so min. rotation

This song is deep, Monica has one of the most meaningful voices in R&B to me. Love the sample, and even though the whole song is built around it, I love it anyways as if it was completely new. This is simplistic pleasure.

A respect rating worthy of Auto-Banger status, personal likeable rating of 2 stars. Missy surprised me with her talent behind the board, i was expecting some crazy, off the wall club jump off, but this is very soulful.

Damn, some old school R&B action from Monica - I'll be honest, I forgot just how well she can sing. The woman's got some serious soul.
Oh, and I agree with @DjKidd. Missy did here thing here on the production tip, but we really, really need a new Missy album. Let's make this happen.

Monica got some extra crispy vocals like KFC! but not put this song out for a single, it will def not do good on the radio, I could see this as a CD filler..but no days CD fillers arent even bought because of itunes...so im sorry Mo Mo!

i agree w/ most of you guys that it isn't a single, can't see it on urban radio, just wouldn't fit in w/ "i invented sex" type R&B that radio likes. Great track though, i LOOOVVEEE Monica's voice and Jazmine Sullivan's lyrics. Beautiful...

Having been a Denise Williams fan back in the day,this song does a pretty good job. I like the production and the beginning jumps out at you.One thing if you know the original you see how much range Denise has copared to Monica

The lyrics to this song at the beginning and Monica's gifted vocals completely drew me in. Missy is an amazing producer and Jazmine Sullivan got major skills as a writer. Her voice is so relevant in this era of genetically modified artists with their voices to match. This song may not be a big radio hit, but as far as I'm concerned it should be. BTW, most of the singers in mainstream music don't have Denise Williams range.
