While it seemed like the release of her successful album Still Standing would mark a comeback for Monica, the singer has been mostly quiet on the musical front since then. Does that make new single Anything (To Find You) a double comeback track? (You know, the song that marks her return to the spotlight after her last return?) Only time will tell, so in the here and now we’re simply left with a head nodding solid r&b jam. Speaking of head nodding, that old school tinged sound comes from Lamb and Missy Elliot, whose sample choice inspires Monica to kick off the festivities with a Mary J. Blige All I Need tribute. From there it’s onto a short but sweet Rick Ross verse, or as sweet as the Bawse gets, and a frankly flat contribution from Lil Kim, but it’s Monica’s emotional, expertly delivered vocals that elevate Anything. As always Booth Nation will have its say in the comments below, but if it were up to me this would be the single that earns Monica a title and a release date for her new upcoming project.

This song first appeared on the R&B / Pop Chart on July 11, 2011

All credit here is due to the production work of Missy and Lamb, whose musical backdrop excites Monica's vocals and is a great match for Ricky. You can keep Lil Kim, on the other hand.

I love how Missy & Lamb flipped the "Who Shot Ya" to nice subtle R&B jam. Ironically this song fit Ross pretty well and Lil' kim was well Lil' Kim.

Skeptical at first, but this song actually won me over. I love the who shot ya flip, and when Kim yelled it I think it was exactly what I wanted. Feeling this. Solid jam.

Ricky Rozay and Monica killed this, Lil Kim’s verse was wack.

Why are Ross and Kim on here?... What saves it from being complete trash is the great singing from Monica.

This track is fire, it started it off so well! I feel it dropped off slightly when it got a bit too sweet singy-songy, but I'm really digging the old school vibe. Biggie samples are always good (when they are used well) and the MJB intro was dope! I think Ross suited this song quite well. Lil' Kim was okay, maybe a bit unnecessary. 3.5 starts this beat bangs!

Production value is tops. The effort from Monica is great, but a little to "narrow" to meet a larger audience. Adding Lil' Kim is a bit of a stretch, either for the "Biggie Connection" or because she's broke.

Loving it, ross dominates this track, be better if he had a longer verse.... we all no the issues with lil kim, originally her verse was bigger but had to cut it down for the boss to jump on the track, great track. well done missy
