Staying in your lane may be a good strategy on the freeway but, when you’re as restlessly creative as Missy Elliott, focusing on one thing to the exclusion of all else is flat-out boring. Thus, the veteran femcee’s decided to celebrate multiplicity with the release of not one but two new, Timbaland-produced singles off her forthcoming comeback album. Released along with 9th Inning, also featured today in the Booth, Triple Threat is a celebration of the artist’s versatility. Backed by Timbo’s baroque string/synth arpeggios, Misdemeanor touts her mastery of rapping, singing and dancing (producing and acting didn’t make the cut, probably because “quintuple threat”doesn’t sound catchy enough), as well as her ablity to knock back three liters of margaritas in a single sitting. Fans will be able to find Triple Threat, 9th Inning and much more on Elliott’s Block Party LP, scheduled to drop sometime this winter.

I enjoyed Triple Threat more than 9th Inning, but that is because both artists sound more comfortable here - and this song will go OFF in the club.
@Max - this is not a "music video," but rather just streaming audio with a visual. Its what the labels do when they want a song on YouTube, but don't want to spend the budget money on a full video before the song release.

Beat is bananas... haven't heard a really dope Timbo beat in a long time. Bangs from start to finish. Good to hear Missy again too. This is a swift return to form for both!

After so many meh tracks from timbaland it's nice to hear him back at the top of his game.
Same for missy after battling with graves disease. The fact the she can go from being practically paralyzed to a spastic rapper on the beat defines perseverance. |

It's good to hear Missy spitting again, but I can't say that I'm really blown away. Maybe it's because of these throwaway Timbaland beats - or his throwaway rhymes. Whatever the case, this is mildly entertaining but I certainly doubt that I will feel the need to play it ever again.
