With four features under his belt, Mikkey Halsted hardly needs any introduction in the Booth—for many members of the listening public, though, this record (the lead single off the rapper’s forthcoming The Last Will Be First EP) will be their first encounter with the Chi-town up-and-comer.  Thus, Halsted takes the track as an opportunity to say Hello to his soon-to-be fans, and let them know what he’s all about.  Don Cannon‘s bombastic, brass-heavy instrumental provides Halsted with one titanic soapbox, and the emcee takes full advantage of that fact—attacking the beat with aggressive energy, Mikkey serves up three verses of ambitious Windy City-repping braggadocio laced with a little political commentary (that controversial No Christmas freestyle even gets a name-drop early on).  Hello is unlikely to convince Halsted’s haters to say “Goodbye,” but it’s sure to raise fan anticipation for The Last Will Be First (and perhaps help secure the EP a solid release date).

This dude sounded pretty cool, but it was nothin that really blew me away. I feel like I would like him better over a different type of production. It's kinda hit or miss 4 me wit Cannon's production work. He has a lot of beats that I LOVE, but this one doesn't do it for me.

Chicago, stand UP! High energy on the mic and behind the boards. Don and Mikkey turn in an exciting effort.

Great energy on this track.
Cannon's a 'hit' on this one, and Halsted throws. it. down.

The hook is really catchy and its a perfect song cause I dont know a whole lot bout Mikkey but I'm impressed
@juanito i was kinda thinking the same thing bout the production ..somehow i feel like his flow is disconnected a little from it but he goes really hard so imma let it slide ;)

This doesn't suck, but its not for me either. I wouldn't run from it, but I won't rush to the speakers when it comes on either.

I mean this song is okay but it kinda sounds like I heard this beat before. And he kinda sounds like one of those "rappers". He would neva beat Lil Wayne but he could try!.
