Mikkey Halsted - Sweetest Taboo ft. Klass
Artist: Mikkey Halsted
Producer: No I.D.
Album: True To The Game Soundtrack
Label: Uncrowned City/Rich Kidz Ent.
On March 24, Stadium Entertainment is teaming up with the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum to release compilation album True To The Game, Vol. 1; distributed by Fontana/Universal, it features various potential “at-bat” anthems, four of which (Beam Me Up, Big Screen, Pretty Girl, and Don’t Know How To Act) have been featured on this very site. On the latest cut to hit our front page, Chi-town rapper Mikkey Halsted is in the club, trying to pick up a woman who stands out from the pack—in fact, he’s struggling with the temptation to break the player code’s Sweetest Taboo and take her as his wife. Featuring smooth hook/bridge vocals from Klass and a synth-whistle beat by Chi-Town hip-hop godfather No I.D., Sweetest Taboo is sure to sound even better during the coming summer nights—try turning it on just as the stars begin to twinkle, and the fireflies and crickets come out to play.

This was really fresh right here. The clean production really shined here (sounds just like The Dream), but Mikkey held his own. Smooth track, I would like to hear some more of this. (Possibly a remix with a well known who would sound good over this...Ross?)

Nothing like what I have heard from Mikkey before... but I like it a lot. The production from No I.D. is as solid as you'd expect from him. Halsted changes up his cadence and flow, but they are for the best over this type of production.

This track was cool, but I didnt think it was better than OK. The production was OK, and Mikkey held his own. I don't wanna take away from him, he was pretty cool on here. I just didnt get too into the vibe on the song/hook.

Wasnt expecting that much but yeah this is pretty fresh! The production is solid and that whistling sound in the background fits well. Klass sounds really good on the hook and I've heard better from Mikkey but its a r&b song and he brings some pretty good lines! This is a banger!

the beat was pretty smooth, reminds me of dream, sounds like they bit his style HARD, sounds like skills and dream, not mikkey and klass, otherwise from them sounding like other artists and biting a style, its raw, i like it

To me this is a banger. I love the background music, it's fresh! The melody and the way they rap are wonderful! This track really caught me, I'm happy about that :)
