It’s suffice to say that almost everyone has dealt with the feeling of being judged for no particular reason. Just ask DJBooth newcomers Tarik Trotter and Mike Stud, who recently put those feelings into song format with their fittingly titled single You Don’t Know Me. Taking it a step further, the two emcee’s have paired the release of their VP-produced new single with an accompanying music video, which was released this past weekend. In the video, Tarik dons a “They out here rappin’ for chains. I’m out here rapping for change” sign, which by itself seems to sum up the overall theme of the song. Stud, who was previously featured in the Booth with Is It Worth It, immediately follows Tarik’s lead with a “things aren’t always what they seem” verse. You Don’t Know Me isn’t attached to any particular project, but expect more fresh music from both artists in the months to come.
