Mike Posner - Drug Dealer Girl (Remix)
Artist: Mike Posner
Featuring: Wale
Producer: Mike Posner and Wrightrax
Album: DJ Benzi Presents: Elitaste CMJ Mixtape
Label: RCA
Attention ladies: if you’re looking for a low-maintenance relationship, Mike Posner just might be your man. As the Michigan native and recent J Records signee explains on his latest feature, cooking, putting on makeup and the like are purely optional; he simply asks that his significant other keep him supplied with the essentials – weed, codeine, that kind of thing. This remix of Drug Dealer Girl, a record originally featured on Posner’s Matter of Time mixtape, is considerably more debauched than your average love jam, but even the stone-sober should be able to appreciate its appeal. If the Duke University senior’s rasped hook and ear-catching, synth-piano instrumental (co-produced with Wrightrax) aren’t intoxicating enough to earn your approval, Wale‘s seriously stoned guest contribution should win you over – in a dreamy, sung-rapped flow, the D.C. buzzmaker delivers verses peppered with entertainingly spaced-out non sequiturs. Craving more from this always-innovative up-and-comer? Fans can find their next fix on Posner’s DJ Benzi-presented Elitaste CMJ mixtape, released prior to last weekend’s College Music Journal festivities.

I am actually a much bigger fan of the original, for no reason other than Posner has less time on the mic here.
Without a doubt, there is nobody quite like Mike these days. Aside from the topical content, this has single written all over it. |

Liked the original better as well, he was so unique doing his thing and Wale came and delivered a very predictable and generic verse. Poser was tight though just like before.

Haven't heard the original, but this one's off the chain. Even though he can't sing that well, hisrhymes aregreat and he's good. I like it.

Like many before, I think the original is great, but switching it up to include Wale on a track is never a bad idea. Posner is extremely talented and has been keeping my playlists busy lately. Glad he's holding down the ACC for the rest of us.

Oh my god. This is one of the sickest songs I've heard this month. As soon as I heard the hook i was like "i can DEFinitely relate to this"

After seeing all these comments from people saying they liked the original better I decided to go and listen to it.
I like the original much better, but this remix is still sick. |

I think I like the remix better, only because the original gets a tad bit repetitive.

Dope track (literally and figuratively)...I don't think Wale hurt the track but could probably do without the singing. Although it would be nice if Mike had added a bit more...perhaps a full verse.
"Now you may never be on a Maybelline commercial but you always let me know when you got some purple" Sick!! |

Before i even listened to it (me being my biased self towards Mike and Wale) i new it would reach 'BANGER' status - I think i overestimated the quality in this track, I think touching it... Just though.

This had the potential to be better than the original, if Wale had stuck to straight out rappin' instead of bending his flow to stoned out sung-rapped flow cos lyrically it was on-point. And this would have definitely benefited from more contribution by Mike Posner. As of now, its as good as Original for me.

I wanted to find some Mike Posner music from a few years ago and I found this song. He does a great job in this but I can't say I love Wale on this track

This is just ok to me. Doesn't seem like this song took much thought to come up with. Mike is way more creative than this
