Even though Mike Jones‘s ColliPark-produced single, Drop & Gimme 50, has been in constant rotation on BET, the single has yet to catch on nationally. Nonetheless, Mr. Jones is a man with a plan, one that includes the much-anticipated new single, Cutty Buddy. Originally recorded by rap group Trillville, the H-Town native acquired the song’s rights via his label, Warner Bros. While T-Pain‘s hook (and Jim Jonsin‘s smooth production) remain from the original, joining in on the fun are Lil’ Wayne and Twista. Though it was originally scheduled for release on July 8, Jones’ new album, Voice of the Streets, will be released later this fall. By then he might have a few more buddies…
Jim Jonsin's production is nice! T-Pain does his thing. I don't even hear the vocoder on his voice for this one on the hook. Dude actually cuts some good voacls. Mike Jones is pretty straight. He actually was better than usual on this joint. This is an awesome mix. This is going to definitely catch on and get major radio play and should have a video. I might even go as far as saying this could reach #1. Wayne came medium-hard on this, so I commend him on that. I expected Twista to do the thing. This a solid joint.
Not bad. Mike Jones brings this down (go figure) but Twista tears it up. T Pain n Weezy are average, but the beat is pretty hot. Its in rotation, but Im sure we'll hear a lot of it because of the guest spots. A lot of money on this track.
this is FIRE!!! This is straight just chillin' music soft and smooth. Everyone on this track hold their own and its about time Mike Jones came back with some big music. Mike Jones WHO???
This single is a GO! A nice smooth beat with a soft hook. Weezy and Twista upgraded this song to another stratosphere. Jim Jonsin did a fine job on this production.
This is VERY surprising coming from Mike Jones. I guess he finally realized that generic hood beats don't guarantee success. The production is straight quality. Perfect record for summer! The only drawback is the constant distracting echo on everybody's vocals.
This song goes hard. T-Pain always does his thing. I think out of everybody on this song Mike Jones was the worse and Twista killed it out of everybody.
Dis track is kinda old... I don't know why Mike is recycling old stuff lately ...
The original version is only with Trillville and T-Pain...
Anyways Miek Jones sux and nothin could help him
t-pain's ad-libs through out the song were bangin.twista is such a good choice for slow jams.. his paced-up & slow flow was the highlight.. weezy came as average here.. jones performed well enough to make a mark among heavy features..
in btw i've been coming to this site for past seven months daily specially for Nathan's reviews(best) & also for comments by michaelhannah , jesavail02 , DJ Z (always lookin to start some debate lo) nuthin but respect..
& oh ! i forgot Burmy.
When I heard this on RnBXclusive on Saturday, i KNEW it'd be featured on here as SOON as Monday hit!! I think i can speak for everybody to say "Mike Jones has a good song?!" The hook is hot. Everybody's part is equally great. The song will make it big, and if it doesnt.. Oh well, i like it!
is that a pic of mike jones?
that does not look like him
cu he look young and sexy
mike jones ain't all dat cute.
But love his music i like twista
hes killa he should hook up with
LIL WUTE OR THREE 6 MAFIA
Thanks for the compliment, Cheru! As for this song, Jones is a winner. I was waiting to hear his phone number, or at least his website, but when the song ended and I heard neither, this one got a thumbs up.
Definitely a good radio hit. I expected Twista to tear this up! Weezy and Mike Jones did ok. It's good that Mike chilled a little bit. If this song blows up, that'll be why. It'll also be cause of the predictably catchy T-Pain hook!
this song...wack! Why use a song that's already been out and heard? The only thing holding this song up is the beat, thank you to the hottest producer in the game Jim Jonsin. Nothing special from MJ, Wayne or Twista..
Come on Cheru you forgot me? lol
This song has some Killer Bass!, Turn Your Speakers down if you dont want them busted! lol, This song has a nice flow to it, T-Pain killed this with hook, Jones has a good flow, Wayne didn't really jump out on this one. Rotation
This is a decent song with a good beat. T-Pain drops a pretty good hook on this one. Lil' Wayne and Twista drop some good verses while Mike Jones is only ok. I'll throw this one in rotation.
nice song mike jones he got help from pain weezy and twista he did it big on this track so he might be from my
home h-town tx less he reppin my home u diggggg?
Not bad...sounds like Mike Jones (who?) Mike Jones has been trying to improve in the lyrics department. The beat is straight and I like the choice of Twista (Chi-town baby!!) and Wayne. I agree with everybody when they say Wayne was average on this track. Like I said...not bad.
I hate it when producers sample classic R&B songs like this one. The only thing I can think of when I hear this is "How deep is your love" by Keith Sweat. The lyrical cast is cool but the producer needs to be a little bit more original.
This IS THE Best Mike Jones song of ALL time. Jim Jonsin is becoming 1 of my favorite producers. Wezzy ofcorse is on it, kinda gettin tired of fam honestly. Twista and T-pain completely kill this track. This is going to be played alot by me! Good Stuff!
First off let me start by saying dat Mike Jones is whack, but im gonna give dis song a chance jus 2 see if he got betta. T-Pain sounds good on dis track. Wayne did his thing, n twista blew it up. As usual Jones sucks . If everyone dats featured on it made dis song it would be a definite classic, but cuz jones f**ked it up I'll give it a 3.
trillville made this song with pain b4 and it was good, i like t-pains addition part on mike jones' part. twista ripped it up! wayne does great on these slow songs, like studio love with t-pain was quality.
This song is amazing..I can only imagine what this jam would do in the club mike jones completely took over this song though Its originally by Trilleville and I've known it for about a year..but It sounds better with fire on it Deff banger
still like trillvilles original cut...but they did freshen it up gotta admitt....loven it, never a big fan of mike jones buts he alright in this one...ofcourse lil wayne kills it as A.L.W.A.Y.S
How the hell did I pass this one up? Must've been messed up on my pain meds at the time! Hahaha Like DJ Z said, no phone number, or website out of Jones, shows me he is growing lyrically. Put Wayne on the track and you have an instant "radio worthy" track, and add Twista and you have a BANGER!!!!!
You expect something different from Mike Jones at the beggining the you hear his voice but you dont expect it to be this slow everybody be rockin you just cant help it especialy Lil Wayne the Twista start off kinda bad from the level that has been but the he brang T-Pain all he doing is like the chorus but he still dong his thang he so mudh in everybody song he aint got time to write his own
It seems like no one recognizes good music anymore. This song was great. They took the beat from Keith Sweat(best R&B singer period). Wayne and T-Pain killed it and Mike Jones did his thing. It has been a while since ive heard a Mike Jones hit. So this one I will have to give 5 stars.
