After canceling plans to release the full-length American Dream LP (replaced by a 6-track EP attached to the DVD), Mike Jones went back in the studio to record new material. This time around, however, it will be for a reworked version of that dream, The Voice of the Streets. On the first official single, Jones goes back to his club music roots, telling all the sexy ladies to get on the dance floor and Drop & Gimme 50. Assisting Mr. Jones is a highly-energized Hurricane Chris, but the production work from Mr. ColliPark is what gives Drop & Gimme 50 enough power to get Jones’ name back in the club. The Voice of the Streets is set to be released in spring 2008.
collipark beat yes sir, hurricane makes it club savy, its getting mjor play in the clubs down here cant lie. i cant stand mike jones and hurricane got one of those extra weird voices like boosie, but they all can make sum good songs for the club. im not really feelin this song rite now, but i can see myself gettin into it if it played at the club or i heard it a while. ha ha this song is crazy; they say sum messed up stuff!
The beat okay, but the both of them are terrible. Lyrics are so mediocre and elementary. I've heard hundreds of songs like this one before! Mike Jones is so horrible! He was horrible on his Underground Ballin days, and still is! When he came out in 2001, he was cool to listen to, but if you listen to him nowadays....its all the same lyrics! Im ashamed to say Im from Houston, because he is! He should be a Sesame Street character. Now theres his place, just for the kiddies.<br>
Same with Paul Wall. I like Paul Wall, but his rhymes are starting to sound the same and recycled.<br>

I'm from New Orleans and the guy he gives props to in the beginning,10th Ward Buck, is a New Orleans Bounce Music Artist. He actually had a bounce song called "Drop & Gimme 50th" a few years back. It was a big song in the region at the time. The ladies love it!
