After Cee-Lo‘s 2010 megahit, I think it’s safe to say the shock/humor value of titling a song “F*ck You” has been exhausted…. at least for a few years’ time. Thankfully, Mike Beatz’ latest effort is neither an f-bomb-packed play for attention nor an attempt to piggyback off Green’s success – despite sharing some themes with the latter’s cut, the South Floridian rapper/producer’s F*ck You is a damn catchy record in its own right. Adonis handles production duties, flipping a lush soul sample into a tunefully fresh backdrop for rhymes on the topic of female dishonesty – which must be in the air, since Celeb Forever tackled the very same topic on I Don’t Believe You, also featured today. Beatz gets the last laugh in his opening verse, making out with his trifling ex while her new man looks on helplessly; NYC-repping Booth fave (and freestyle series alum) Sha Stimuli tells a similar story on the back, reminding a girl who did him wrong that, despite their recent fling, she’s still dead to him. Topped off with the smooth hook vocals of Lucian, this quirky breakup joint is just one of many fresh selections on Mike Beatz’ Boom Bap: The Album, available for download here.

Not sure if this was crafted before or after Cee-Lo took over the nation with last year's behemoth single, but either way that shouldn't tarnish this catchy effort. Adonis' work behind-the-board is outstanding and Beatz, while not an amazing emcee, capably works around the beat with a few friends.

Rather than think of Cee, i think of Eamon. Just harder. However i think this song may become a club anthem for dudes. Finally something that doesnt involve lil' jon.

Whoa...with a name like "F*ck You", I expected this beat to be wayyyyy harder. This track is more laid back than it seems it should be. And in that respect I am diggin' it.

This song is catchy, entertaining and hilarious. The production is good but the hook and verses are the highlight.

This track def had me hooked after a few listens &
I happen to be a big of Beatz since his early work most notably (50/50). I think he's a incredible lyricist but lyricism these days dont pay the bills. i think he's more focused on making dope music than anything. Btw you all should check out that album...one word #Classic!! |

The track was made before the Cee-lo joint. I remember when that joint came out i was like daaamn. "Boom Bap" was over 2 years in the making so alot of these joints were laying around for a while. "Who i do it for","You know" and "@*#$! You" was among the first joints we didd.
