In pop music as in love, the only Sure Thing is that there are no sure things. (And before anyone says anything, yes, I do realize that statement is self-contradictory.) Judging by the positive Booth feedback the up-and-coming crooner (and recent video interviewee) has received thus far, though, Miguel is pretty damn close. On single numéro deux, the singer trades the hip-hop-informed vibes of lead effort/title track All I Want Is You for something a little more haunting; backed by Happy Perez’ headphone-worthy blend of swirling synths, ringing guitar chords and understated percussion (complete with an unexpected, but dope chopped-n-screwed hook), Miguel expresses the enduring, invincible power of his love for a special girl. While I doubt SAT scorers would approve of some of his analogical reasoning (cigarette is to smoker as news is to reporter?!) the artist gets a perfect 2400 where passion and soul are concerned. Like what you’re hearing? More eclectically fresh R&B goodness awaits on All I Want Is You (the album), released Nov. 30 and available now in stores and online.

 Nowhere near as catchy, or radio-worthy, as "All I Want Is You," but its pleasing to the ears nonetheless. Miguel clearly likes to drive his own musical vehicle down a lane that he shares with nobody else. Kudos for the original sound and style.

@DJ Z, i can see this being on the radio, no doubt. @dillon_68, your going to far with that statement. Its not "legendary". Its a good song for sure, but it wont be remembered......
This is a great track on his album. Defenitly one of my favs from it. I love the production from Happy Perez. Its really smooth and makes this song a very nice listen. Also, i love the lyrics from Miguel, in his verses. They are very deep and thoughful. An overall good song. A banger for me. |

@Alby, Yeah you're right. It may be one of my favorite tracks right now, but unless it does well on radio, I doubt it will be remember in years to come. It's most definitely 5 stars though.

Very soulful stuff from Miguel here. We don't get to hear much of this on radio anymore. I really likes this song, but I don't see it getting too crazy on radio. Just doesn't follow with the mainstream these days. Probably goes for the rest of his songs as well. That's ok, though. Miguel can definitely develop a core fan base with the direction he's going in.
