The 138th entry in our DJBooth.net Freestyle Series comes courtesy of Mickey Factz, the Big Apple native who recently earned reader acclaim for unreleased cut The Lost Exhibit: #ALPHA. On his brand new, exclusive Robert Rauschenberg freestyle, the GFCnewyork emcee flows over original boardwork by Don Cannon. Mickey Factz is currently preparing for the March release of Alpha, his first project to hit stores in physical form. In addition, he will be dropping a new mixtape with his group, FKi, this week. Southerners can catch Factz Wednesday night (February 10) at New Orleans’ Ampersand.

For the last 11 months I have been asking/begging/requesting Mick to record a freestyle for the series. I knew he would come through (I promise, Mick), it was just a matter of when. Well, the day has arrived my friends. Over some original Don Cannon boardwork, Mr. Factz proves why he is one of the most talented artists in the newest wave of hip-hop lifeblood.

Yeah, been waiting for this. Don Cannon's boardwork was EPIC! NICE LINES by Factz. I was wondering when this gonna be featured. Soon as saw this was finally here I instantly clicked on it.

I hope you're ready for a name drop onslaught: I was at the Playboy Mansion with Z last summer when we ran into Mickey, who promised he's have his freestyle in later that week. More than six months later...it turns out the wait was completely worth it. Who knew?
Some quick reactions... Yo, glad to know I wasn't the only one who wanted to smash Topanga from Boy Meets World. That was my girl back in the day. Also, dude completely quoted Aesop Rock's "Shovel" on that "Rumble out of bed and stumble to the kitchen, pour myself a cup of ambition." I feel like this flow is a lot deeper than we may be giving him credit for. I'm gonna have to re-listen at least a couple more times. Four straight minutes of flow? I gotta pull the trigger on five stars.
