Mickey Factz - Radio 2 Point OH
Artist: Mickey Factz
Producer: MeLo-X
Album: MeLo-X Mustafa’s Renaissance mixtape
Label: GFCnewyork/Battery Records
Today, Brooklyn’s MeLo-X, a producer/promoter who has brought his New Pop sound to the East Coast hip-hop scene, will release his new mixtape, Mustafa’s Renaissance. While most of the project features Melo as the lead artist, track #16 features a fellow NYC emcee, who just so happened to be named by XXL magazine as one of their “Top 10 Freshmen.” On Radio 2 Point OH, the Bronx’s Mickey Factz brings everyone out on the dance floor. Regardless of what you think of Factz’ verses, most listeners will be able to appreciate MeLo-X’s club-thumping beat. Bottom line: crossover hit. For a wider variety of get-up-and-dance jams, check out the rest of Mustafa’s Renaissance.

This a definite hit. Mickey Factz has something about him that keeps me always lookin out for new music from him. I think it's because I can't really associate him with any other artists right now. He's done some tracks with the Cool Kids which is really hot and should be checked out. And as for the production, there's slowly a movement being created for the futuristic/techno/rave kind of music. Only complaint is that long intro, but it doesn't matter at all in the clubs, which is why I'm going to throw this one 4 phat stars.

This should not be called hip hop rap or anything... This is POP music and by rating it as a pop record i.e: Timberlake, Spears type of record Its dope. BUT NOT HIP HOP!

I love when rappers do something THEY want to do and stop listening to these whining people who aren't even making music who keep talking ish. Nobody needs to stick to nothing...strong points and stuff. The death of creativity comes from y'all fans man. That pisses me off as an artist. People are selfish as ever. How about you get in the booth and make a record. "I like Mickey but at times son takes it a little too left." That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard. Too left to who's standards yo? This was eclectic. I like Mickey and all these new artists that they are ignorantly labeling "hipster" rap just because it's different and not the same ish. HIP HOP is whatever you want it to be. No one can tell you what it is...so quit ACTING like you know.
MICKEY FACTZ IS WHAT'S IT RIGHT NOW! |

yea Mickey is the truth. This is different. I'm not the biggest techno fan in the world, but I can see myself bouncing to this.

oh hit that robot..oh hit that robot...oh hit that robot...oh hit that robot...oh hit that robot....oh hit that robot..oh hit that robot...
it was bit repetitive at first but i had my mountain dew and glowstick ready for the rest. im begining to see hip-hop evolve from the 50 cent, D4L and lil jon days. It's evolving into this futuristic vibe. Charles Hamilton, B.O.B., Wale, Asher Roth and many others and making noise. new noise. the future is coming |

Cross over banger for sure. Take it easy there M.H., everyone is free to have their own opinions. Some people just don't feel this kinda music and I can understand that. But I feel you, doesn't matter if Mickey been Hip Hop his whole life, if he wants to create something like this, he's free to.
Lameleon, def. agree with you, hip-hop is evolving and more artists are starting to break from the mold and are willing to try somethin new, which is always great to see. |

Damn Michael Hannah, easy killa. All I'm sayin is that this record was not grabbin me AT ALL. I'm still a Mickey Factz fan, just not feelin this. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion correct? Since day 1 of the leak I kept a slot for Mickey, so don't get it twisted. All I'm sayin is that this wasn't movin me. When I heard this song I felt like I walked into McDonalds to get a hamburger and I got a slice of pizza instead.

Not usually big on droppin rev's but MH you made me laugh cuz... I agree with what you said. An artists ability to create new/experimental concepts, is just as important as breathing in my opinion. Az 4 the song, I know what I like and this one is hot. It prolly get some play ova the christmas break.

this song isent quite there yet, but its really refreshing to here some mix up of styles in hip-hop.... i mean pop took a note as this year has been 4 to the floor.
i like all the styles, electro, bmore, 4 to the floor. I give um props for trying.. but the song is just not that good. maybe spank rock, or some other electro booty hip-hop style artist could get it and do a better remix? |
