Mickey Factz is many things – ceaselessly creative emcee, clothing entrepreneur, DJBooth freestyle alum– but one thing he’s not is large. No wonder then that he brought in fellow NYC emcee Fat Joe and Mr. 5 Mics Bun B to serve as the offensive line for him to quarterback behind on the remix to his current street single Paradise. Possibly strained football analogies aside, since the original’s starkly electronic beat from Precize remains untouched the news here is entirely on the mic side of the equation, with Joey Crack continuing to flow in his grittier, Darkside-esque style (“got a chrome 45 for you sing-song ni**as”), Mickey re-upping his aggressively delivered flow (shots fired at Brian Pumper, what!?) and Bun coming in on the back end with a yet another trill offering (you do not want to get a haircut from the man). I think you all know what’s coming….wait for it….so which one’s better, the original or the remix? Either way, fans will want to cop Mickey’s boldly titled new mixtape, I’m Better Than You, available across the internets right now.

Fat Joe? Eh, I could have hand picked 10 hotter emcees to guest 16 on this insane beat from Precize. Bun's verse was wasted at the end and Mickey played it safe. I am giving this a 3, but it had the potential to be so much more.

Lets start off with I am surprised by Fat Joe's verse actually had some fire. Mickey had a nice mellow verse. I'm a sucker for Bun B's flow so gotta love that always consistently good Bun B. 4

Not a fan of a lot of things on this track. #1, the charlie brown teacher production sample. Fat Joe's regular, average, ordinary, everything a guest verse doesn't want to be called. Really weak hook, Bun B was the highlight although he had a very short verse and his contribution was minimal. Mickey laid low on his own track, not a good look at all.

Seems like it's unanimous. You have to respect a track with the lyrical resume of Bun and Joe, but it's not blowing anyone away. I'll say better than the original, but frankly neither record has a regular spot in my iPod.

The lyrics are not strong enough to carry this song through. Its ok put had the potential to be a banger.

Ever since Pimp C passed it seems Bun B could do no wrong. He's one of most consistent rappers today. Mickey was weak, but so was his original verses. It worked in the original, but I may be weird to expect a better go around a remix. Joey Crack, weak as he's always been. Never have been a fan of his work, and it's been a lot worse since returning from his hiatus.
