Mickey Factz - Paradise
Artist: Mickey Factz
Producer: Precize
Album: The Achievement
Label: GFCnewyork/Battery Records
Attention Mickey Factz haters: the Big Apple buzzmaker (and exclusive freestyle series contributor) is back on our front page with a brand new single that you’re guaranteed to hate even more than the rest of his work – because it’s dedicated to you! Factz-likers, on the other hand, will undoubtedly find a lot to, well, like about this triumphant joint, which sees the recent Battery Records signee assuring us that, despite the best efforts of his foes, he’s “feelin’ like Paradise.” Backed by the sparse, grimy synths, booming bass and occasional beatboxing of producer Precize, Factz savors the progress he’s made (and the currency he’s accumulated) to date, taunting those who begrudge him his victories: “I bet it eats you up inside like a parasite.” Arrogant? Sure. Dope? Most definitely. Those craving more celebratory jams from the Northeastern phenom can find what they seek on Mickey Factz’ The Achievement LP, set to hit stores and online retailers sometime this fall.

While Factz showcases his usual braggadocio flow here, I cannot completely get into the record because of the production work. The Precize beat is not bad, but it just gets annoying rather quickly.
I, like many others, are anticipating "The Achievement" but I hope it offers up more than "Paradise." |

Beat goes hard on this. Mickey has nice verses and the hook is nice too.

I tried to narrow down the phrases I came up with to describe the robotic production and got it down to two: "Optimus Prime singing karaoke" and "Optimus Prime gargling." But I'm really into it...not sure why...doesn't matter.

Ah, I remember when Mickey, Z and me were hanging out at the Playboy Mansion (shameless bragging)....
Anyway, it feels like we've been waiting more than a minute for some new Factz and if the new material sounds anything like this, I'm down. I don't find the beat that annoying, but it could have used another element on the hook/chorus to give it some texture. As is it's got an A Milli-esque feel. As for Mickey, slow paced rhymes, but his punchlines are on point. Overall a solid effort. |

Precize's beat sounds rather Neptune-y. (and the adlibs sound kinda like Pharrell's doing them too)
Note: the above is a COMPLIMENT. This BANGS! |

i both liked the beat and couldn't stand it..i found myself squinting my eyes, as if that would help, while listening so that i could get a better feel for what mickey was saying. however, couldn't get through it because of the beat. just a bit too much...

The initial build up is done very very well in my book, but as Z points out the repetitiveness of the instrumental takes this down a notch. Solid listen none the less.

I'm sorry DJZ, this beats FIRE!!! I do like the Neptune-y feel (@Burmy). The "yeah" ad-lib reminds me of Shay from N.E.R.D a little. The beat is different. Nice note progression in synth build-up. Goes hard b/c of the synth, but has smooth drum groove.
