Lock your doors, bar your windows, and keep a shotgun by your side at all times – The Lost Exhibit #ALPHA has escaped from its holding cell, and it’s out for blood! Oh, it’s a new track from Mickey Factz, not some type of nightmarish, genetically-engineered monster created by the government? Sorry, guess I should lay off the Resident Evil. In actuality, this unreleased record’s unusual title has a perfectly reasonable (if less exciting) explanation: Factz’ had forgotten about this freestyle, recorded over Just Blaze‘s beat from Jay Electronica‘s Exhibit A (Transformation), till just recently, when he came across the file and decided to leak it in anticipation of the January 1 release of his latest project, Alpha. This is one exhibit we can all be glad didn’t remain forgotten – Factz’ heady, paranoia-tinged mix of braggadocio, sociopolitical commentary and revolutionary rhetoric is as attention-grabbing as ever, and Blaze’s ambient, synth-driven boardwork is the perfect foil to the emcee’s lyrical intensity. If you’re digging this moody track, don’t forget to grab your own copy of Alpha first thing after you wake up New Year’s morning (or afternoon, or evening, depending on how hard you partied the night before).

Mick murdered this beat. Jay Electronica's version was dope, but this was wow.

I am (currently) mad at Mick because he owes me a freestyle for our series, but you cannot deny raw talent. Right, Mick?

Crazy track right here. Mickey's flow was dope over Just's hard-hitting beat. Jay's was nice but this totally outshined it. Even when Mickey starts talking, it's not annoying actually was intersted in it.

Oh man, this is hot!

@DJ Z - Yeah, I was really looking forward to Mickey's freestyle as well. He STILL hasn't come through for the DJ Booth.

Anyways, this track was straight crack!

First off, that's a hell of a pic Mickey has going for himself. That's some male model type ish. He's a Renaissance man.

Blaze absolutely killed this beat, and Mickey's more than up to the challenge of flowing over it. Really strong day on the Booth, and this might just be my favorite of the day.

For those who are not familiar with the original by Jay-Electronica, to simply put, it's one of the best hip-hop songs you'll ever come across to.

Mickey definitely gets a win for this track, and I’m excited to see the kind of heat he brings with Alpha.

Really liked some of Mickey's old mixtapes, haven't much of him since then. I like it but not as much as his other songs that really had a unique sound about them. Sure the lyrics here are good but the beat and tone doesn't keep me enticed.

hey, i remember this beat. "that blow your brain, kurt cobain, that nirvana s**t" - jay electronica absolutely dominated this beat...mickey factz did his thing on this too, but i put jay's version on such a pedestal that im not ready to allow this version to top it, nor do i think that it did. still solid.
