While most rappers from New York City are trying to bring back the Big Apple’s hip-hop heyday, Bronx native Mickey Factz has a plan to move it forward. On The Leak 12, enter the story of a female who Factz finds himself smitten over. What’s the catch? Oh, just that he has to buy her a pair of thousand dollar Jimmy Choo’s, and Mickey will do anything (including singing blues on the street corner) to raise the cash. Adding a funky, old-soul appeal to the mission is the talented James Watts (on both hook and production duty). If Jimmy Choo’s is any indicator, it shouldn’t be too much longer before Mickey reaches his goal. The Leak, Vol.1 hits stores April 22.
This is very different and I applaud him for going out on a limb with this track. The production ins definitely high quality with nice beat changes. This is a good track to just chill and be mellow to! I am feelin it. I want to hear more from Mickey Factz to see if he can always be different and fresh at the same time.
Haha, DJJ, Wayne isn't the ONLY artist to ever release music and publicize it as a 'leak.' Mickey is solid on the mic, lyrically he impresses as I listened twice to hear everything he said, and the singing chorus is of course different, but not in a 'damn, he did that?' kind of way.
I hated this song the first time I listened to it, but I really like it, even though its totally not my style! I don't see it getting much love from the Hip Hop community, but I can see it on TRL or some @*#$! like that.
