While fellow Destiny’s Child alumni Beyonce and Kelly have gotten major press for their respective solo albums, the third member, Michelle Williams, has quietly done her own thing without nearly as much fanfare. After releasing two gospel albums (Heart To Yours and Do You Know), starring in two Broadway shows (Aida and The Color Purple), and purchasing a share of Chicago’s WNBA franchise, The Sky, the Rockford, Illinois native is finally stepping into the world of mainstream R&B with her upcoming solo album, Unexpected. On the first single, We Break The Dawn, Michelle brings forward a new dance-ready style (similar to Bey’s Beautiful Nightmare), assisted by Timbaland protégés, The Clutch. Unexpected is tentatively set for release in late August.
I like her voice; I don't remember her voice being as raspy. I am not sure if she will have as much success or fame as a solo artist as her counterparts--Beyonce and Kelly R--did, but I will be anticipating more work from her. I probably will go and check her gospel albums. Beat was techno-like and a great way to re-introduce yourself to the mainstream audience.
Really good sounding track and well produced. I hope michelle williams does well, she's been overshadowed for too long. Kinda glad that she'd finally sold out to appease mainstream, as this type of thing will definitely work out for her. Little doubt that this will get airplay.
wow...i must say Im impressed, this by far is the best i've hurd Michelle vocally on a solo track...the beat is hot the song is catchy like something the-dream would write...man this sure make me want a destiny child reuinion this track would bet a classic if all 3 of them were on it 2getha but michell does it justice..i love it. hope she does well cuz i like her personality alot.

I listened to it a little inattentively but I must say I really like it! It's fresh, energic, it will be perfect for clubs (well American ones, here I am resigned to hear only dance music)

Michelle is my homegirl! I had the chance to chat with her last year at a Carl Thomas CD release party in Chicago, very down to earth and open about her career. This new project is going to be exciting. Let's hope it gets promoted properly.
I like this track it has a nice vibe and it is something different from what Byonce and Kelly have done....I wasn't crazy about her voice on the last Destiny Child's CD but I have to give her props now.
Another thing too...I think that there isn't really a market for woman say like from 27 to 34...so, when they make music, it tends to sound alittle old or too young...I say be yourself and open up that market.
