Though the Cleveland-repper’s been a regular fixture on our pages in recent months, appearing as a guest on joints by Kid Ink, Young Scolla and XV, Machine Gun Kelly hasn’t had a Booth feature to himself since he dropped exclusive freestyle #147 back in March 2010. Today, MGK returns to give us the rundown on his recent grind. Taking its title from New Zealand rockers Naked and Famous – whose Young Blood forms the backbone of the driving instrumental – unreleased cut Half Naked & Almost Famous is half-motivational jam, half slice-of-life. In exultant, deftly-flowed bars, the emcee celebrates his victories to date, as well as the experiences (and blunts) he’s shared with close friends and tour mates. And, lest you think success has changed the man, the artist makes clear he’s got a firm lock on his priorities: “F*ck clothes, and f*ck hoes / Hundred dollars worth of munchies – truckloads.” If Kelly keeps turning out cuts of this caliber, it won’t be long before he’s crossing the “Almost” off this cut’s title (no comment on the “naked” part). The record is currently unattached to any forthcoming project, but fans should stay on the lookout for the official video, debuting next week.

This has a half-hearted inspirational theme song feel to it. Which is cool depending upon your expectations of the artist and the record. Ultimately, though, MGK stays true to himself and continues to drive down a lane toward success.

bit on the fence here, on one hand MGK seems to be going hard but at others he seems half-hearted as @DJ Z mentioned. give it a few more spins i guess

the beat and chorus are so catchy. I wasn't really feeling the verses as much. Something about this track doesn't do it for me. Maybe his voice is better suited for another type of track.

I have been a fan of MGK for a while and I was glad when he released this track. Although it isn't what his tracks are normally like it is different and different isn't always necessarily bad as some people think.

I agree his voice doesn't suit this beat but hey, he still does a freaking awesome job, give the man some credit. And Caveman Ithe last 5 tracks I've been too you've given them 1 star, must not be your day hey?

I'm an MGK fan and I'm diggin this song. His best type of beat are more intense. Songs like Cleveland, Salute, and Chip Off The Block.
