As far as musical tastes are concerned, you could hardly ask for a more diverse bunch than DJBooth.net regulars—what’s one-star trash to one reviewer is another’s five-star treasure, and vice versa.  With that said, the tremendous, nearly unanimously positive ratings garnered by Blackout 2 lead single A Yo! and leaked cut City Lights make one thing crystal clear: the Booth needs more Method Man & Redman, stat!  In contrast to the joint-sparking, street-friendly vibe of both the aforementioned tracks, this latest cut oozes mellow, old-school flavor as the duo spit globetrotting game to a certain Mrs. International.  Despite the change in tone, the time-tested lyrical skills Meth and Red once again bring to the table, as well as Buckwild‘s lushly-sampled instrumental, will likely add up to another Booth-charting hit.  Blackout 2, the duo’s long-awaited sophomore album, is set to hit stores May 19th, and fans should watch out for the Mrs. International music video, filmed two weeks ago, to premiere in the near future.

This old school production reminds me of Lupe for some odd reason, but production is okayyy as far as it goes.. If they themselves woulda produced it, I think it woulda been fire, but that goes for any of there songs that they dont produce LOL! Overall a good songg just to kick back too.

Pretty good listen. Definitely prefer the energy from Meth and Red when they're together over this slow paced track, but it was still enjoyable. 3 stars.

It's the worst of the "Blackout 2" tracks yet it's damn good. This track reminds me of the old "hand job vs. blow vs. sex" metaphor; it's all good but that doesn't mean there's no preference. lol.

This album is shaping up to be quite the comeback for these fellas. I don't understand, however, why there isn't more promotion and marketing being done for the release (which is not just 7 weeks away, but will probably end up being pushed back).

Blaze: "Excellent energy on here!" - cannot deny that!

It's pretty much becoming a automatic banger every time I hear these two on a track. Nice beat & both bring a LOT of energy (definitely a understatement).

Finally some real ass rappers!! I'm tired of listenin to lots of these new 'rap-boys' on DJB (wale, k-sparks, etc.) .. now compare this track with wale's penthouse and this new k-sparks!!! (released on the same day on djBooth)

Yea, there's a big difference between meth & red and these new 'rappers'!!! ..so tired of that ''everyday a new rapper @*#$! ''

A nice listen and a great contrast from some of their other tracks. Like cb126405, I kinda like the energy that dudes bring, but this laid back vibe is cool. I really like the smooth production, and the hook is kinda funny.

@croatia Each feature should be rated individually; not compared to what other records are featured the same day.

Also, just because you enjoy a new Meth/Red song, does not mean you need to inappropriately put down another artist.

Regardless, thanks for your readership!

Let me just say City Lights is my cut. I play that nonstop, so when i tuned in to listen to this song i was expecting the same vibe, but its a lot more mellow and smooth. I can def see it as a track on an album. I love that Method & Red are back together. I wouldn't put it on the pod but its not a bad song at all. If they keep coming with songs like this the album should def be hot! I'll buy it.

Ummm....I don't know what's up with croatia, 'cause right now, sparks is fire. The fact that you're hating means you really respect him. Anyways...I'm not a fan of this song. Not my style at all. Not even going to put this in rotation.

While their last two were just amazing, this one is refreshing to hear as it's got a little bit more of that laid back style. They sound as fresh as ever, and the fact that their experimenting more with production this time around (Blackout 2, so far) is awesome...they used to more just stick to that east coast Erick Sermon vibe which was good at the time but might no longer be relevant today...Meth and Red are BACK - Banger!

Will this, however, renew as much interest in them as they had when they were doing right guard commercials and their own sitcom?!?! Probably not, but that's a good thing. BIG DOGS!

The flow matches the beat, smoothed out. Buckwild lays the track down so gently. This joint is fire!
