There is a growing sentiment in the industry that the Internet is killing hip-hop. While file-sharing sites that leak albums are certainly to blame, the Internet is also responsible for finding new acts who otherwise might go unnoticed (Soulja Boy, Cassie). Case in point, Metafore, an 18-year old Brooklyn lyricist who has made his presence known thanks to MySpace and Youtube. On his new buzz cut, I’m A Beast, Meta lives up to his name and sends a message to his boastful competitors (”Apple Computers is the only damn Mac you’ve touched”) and The Alchemist gives his seal of approval, providing a classic-sounding beat to compliment Meta’s introduction into the mainstream.
I WAS FEELIN HIS FIRST JOINT "NAW MEAN" N IM FEELING THIS JOINT TOO...HIS LYRICS R DOPE BUT I GOTTA AGREE W/ OBECALP NEEDS BETTA PRODUCTION QUALITY N PRODUCTION.
OK, metafore has a flow and he can rap, but so can many other people trying to come out and blow right now. Again, this is a rapper that needs a REAL hit to be known and this just isn't it. I don't really think its Alchemist's fault for this one; I just think his flow was more elementary with not enough swagger on it to make it stick out as a real hit. Give Lil wayne this beat or even 50 (hell, even Lupe or Kanye) and it would be a hit. With Metafore on it...it's just OK.
Thinking the same thing i mean your gonna have to come with more than a flow this song is just ok especially with guys like him i will give him on an 10 track cd maybe 2 to 3 good songs.
Taking into consideration that this is only a buzz single, not a radio single as some have eluded to, Meta gives a taste of what he is all about. Considering he just became age eligible to vote in an election, give the kid some credit where it's due. At 18 he is above the curve.
I always think the best of everything with Meta. And why not!? I have been on this trip with him from jump. And for those of you who think he just ok, why not take a listen to his cut "Patience" on him myspace page. Better yet, check out his Heir to the Throne - 1 mixtape cd hosted by DJ Envy, before passing judgement. 'Specially his track "Higher than a Mountain"
To some, he may be just "ok" with this particular song, but trust, him and his lyrics are above and beyond just "ok".
he's really cute and a cute voice for a slow r&b song- he has a nice flow. I just wish it was more crunk.WOW!!(He looks 2 nice to be cursin like dat all da time)
I agree with DJ Z on this one. For an eighteen year old this kid can rap. You know his flow can only get better. The beats hot and it's in the car rotation.
