Cali is always buzzing, but in 2012, something just might pop-off. For example, take Sacramento emcee Mean Doe Green; listeners can virtually hear the west coast take off on his latest song release, Be Great (a DJBooth world premiere!). Great vibe here. Doey and DC have an obvious chemistry as emcee and producer. The piano notes complement Doey's tone well. The only aspect of the record that could use a boost is the hook, which falls a little flat if the aim was a real powerful impact.

I don't like Mean Doe Green's old-school sounding flow. I thought the chorus was pretty annoying after the second verse. Not feelin this much.
