My favorite dead Greek dude, the philosopher Heraclitus, wrote, “You cannot step twice into the same river.” Or, as Miami hip-hop group ¡MAYDAY! put it on their latest feature, “Life is like the weather; everything will change. / Nothin’ lasts forever, nothin’ stays the same.” Either way, it’s some deep stuff. This unreleased remix finds producer Plex Luthor cooking up a spacious, string-accented backdrop for the download lyrical reflections of rappers Bernbiz and Wrekonize. Topped off with the distinctive hook vocals of Devin the Dude (who dropped his latest album, Suite 420, this past Tuesday), Nothin’ may be a bit of a downer, but those looking to sit back and vibe out to something dreamy and chill (with or without chemical assistance) could hardly do better. Fans should keep it locked for the latest on ¡MAYDAY!‘s Stuck on an Island LP, set to make a crash landing on record store shelves sometime soon.

I really dig the production on this and Devin sets a cool tone. Mayday does good at keeping the vibe going and taking listeners on a nice mind drift.

This track is screaming for chemical assistance. I can almost see haze coming through my speakers and filling the ceiling. The third verse was my favorite. Devin did a great job on the chorus too.

Beat is nice and slow, doesn't get repetitive and gets your head noddin from the moment you hit the play button.
MAYDAY and DEVIN help you drift off here, by the time the song is over you realize that you were totally zoned out listenin to the music while they were flowing. Smoothest track I've heard in a while. |

Another Devin feature? Damn; this dude must be run on marijuana. Two days after 4/20 and the guy jumps on every track that comes his way. Weed is Devin what Spinach is to Popeye I guess.
The production on this is smoke-ready. Personally, I don't do much weed but I can definitely see how this track would appeal to the "stoner" audience. Everyone came correct and the track held my attention for the most part. I'm going to throw it a 3 but, if I blazed up, this would be a solid 4. |

More solid production. It sets the tone for the rest of the song and gives the listener a good idea of what is coming their way. Biggest thing that sticks out to me are the tones that play in between each verse.
Mayday! lays down a truthful track that is deep. The wordplay is great on top of the production and is a real head nodder. Devin The Dude was a solid addition to the track and brings it together even better. Overall this is a real tight track. Nothing from it seems out of place and is just really well done. Definitely going to make its way onto a mix for my car, every once in a while you need a track like this when you are driving so you can just get everything out of your mind. |

umm dis track slow maybe a lil to slow cant really get into it but i can becuz verses was kool specially around da end which hearing dat made me want to listen and try to vibe wit it but dis is jus ok ima go wit @PHANTASTIC on dis and give it a 2 but tree lifted a lil..3 |

the production is reall mellow in the beggining and sort of kept that way throughout the track.
i hear alot of abstract old-school beat/violin really making this track unique. overall it sounds like a good album filler that can gain popularity 3 spins reall solid nothing special for me but the appreciation on production. |

"Life is like the weather, everything will change..." damn, big dose of reality right there. I'm really digging the production on this one. Plex definitely knows how to hook up his fellow Mayday! members.
I liked the flows on this track as they were all very consistent. Second verse set the overall tone for things to come and in the end, I was not disappointed at all. Solid 3.5 for me. |

Man, the beginning of the beat promised so much.
And the first line drops, and my expection also drops... You've got a beautiful beat in the background accompanied by orchestral matrix. And the vocal just... drowns. Conceptually, I think lyrics and flow just mashed so well. The break of the verse and the chorus reflected the idea of temporariness, and the concept transcended the song. I only wish the delivery could have elevated with the beat itself. Still a solid song. |

I knew before even playing the track that with a Devin The Dude feature it was going to be a mellow and laid-back sound....and I was correct! This isn't my type of vibe at all...and I mean you could be high and really enjoy this but other then that I don't know why you would wan't to listen. Devin has never really been my type of rapper and from what I heard of Mayday they seem to mesh well with his style too. Some people will like this and I respect that...but I think I could fall asleep to this rather then enjoy it. Decent verses though so I'll give them all credit for that.

Big fan of MAYDAY and a big fan of music with live instrumentation. This is average for the group - I couldn't get into the melody here - but their "average" is most people's best.

loving the laid back beat on this song, and its gud to hear devins voice again, its just got that laid back sound that fits this songs mood. a nice relaxing song with meaningful lyrics that are spit at just a nice speed too

I like to compare ¡MAYDAY! to the ILLZ. They are not for everyone, but if you enjoy GOOD music you'll be hard pressed not to throw this into rotation.

roughly 3 stars??? sike this is different and is a breath of fresh air for meaningful listener...this song will get better with it on repeat...and if your sleeping on DEVIN'S NEW ALBUM DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND GET IT.
