Mo’ money may lead to mo’ problems but, as guest emcee Dice Raw observes on the latest leak off ¡MAYDAY!‘s forthcoming full-length, when you’ve got no money, everything’s a problem. On this newly-remixed version of the cut, the Floridian ensemble hook up with Raw and West Coast vet Ras Kass to take a look at the obstacles that stand in the way of anyone trying to Make a Living in today’s economy. Though ¡MAYDAY! aren’t known for coloring inside the lines production-wise, group member Plex Luthor outdoes himself here here, crafting a stark, reggae-tinged instrumental that mutates unpredictably as the record progresses. Bernbiz, Wrekonize and company lace the off-kilter groove with some fittingly out-the-box rhymes, offering an unapologetically cynical, but thought-provoking take on the American Dream. Is ¡MAYDAY!‘s latest experiment a success? Your call, readers. If you’re digging it, you’ll be able to hear more this fall, when their Stuck on an Island LP hits record store shelves and online retailers.

If anything the one constant with MayDay is that you NEVER know what you are going to get from them on a new feature. Nothing ever sounds the same, but amazingly their style remains unconventionally and refreshingly similar. Did that make any sense?
I liked Ras' contributions here, but Dice seemed out of place. |

This would have sounded better with a Chorus outro...

One of those tracks where you hold your breath for the first 30 seconds wondering where they're going to take you, and I can't complain where I got taken. Honestly, this one's so left I'm going to have to take a few more listens before I can really decide its qualities, so for not I'll just give three stars for the originality and the flows, especially the second verse.

I really don't know how to feel, I mean sure I liked it, was so weird how the music stopped and then the beat changed completely. I wanna check more of Mayday's stuff up because this is very interesting hip-hop
