¡MAYDAY! - The Ride
Producer: Plex Luthor
Album: None (Promo Single)
Label: Strange Music
If you’re defined by the company you keep, then ¡MAYDAY! are well on their way to underground legendhood—simply put, the Panhandle State crew have been rubbing shoulders with giants. Currently accompanying label boss Tech N9ne on his All 6’s and 7’s tour, the Panhandle State crew have also found the time to hook up with West Coast veteran Del The Funky Homosapien to record new promo single The Ride. As usual, crew member Plex Luthor keeps it moody and left-of-center on the production tip, layering spare guitar riffs and buzzing bass over a lurching breakbeat as Wrek and Bernbiz taunt their competition with ominous lyrical pronouncements, “Ain’t nobody gonna make it out alive/ Born alone die alone, that’s the ride…” On the front, Sir Diesel adopts a gravelly flow to match the cut’s dark tone, threatening, “Anybody that come through the hall, [I’ll] shoot ‘em in the balls” but ultimately concluding: “Tragedy can make the petty situations dumb small.” Though this brooding banger isn’t attached to any forthcoming project, those digging it can keep it locked you-know-where for anything and everything ¡MAYDAY!.

I been a fan of Tech forever and been to my fair share of shows even before he blew up. Then strange music happened and I've been hooked to everything that comes out of their music labs. MAYDAY is gunna be a good addition to the mix

Solid track. It doesn't sound like a typical Del song, but I think he is a nice addition. Mayday shows they can work with a diverse group of artists. A trait that will get them far.

Mayday is dope, and this song shows it. Plus a feature from Del, you already know it's going to be a jam.
