Masspike Miles - We Made It
Artist: Masspike Miles
Featuring: Rick Ross
Producer: Twice As Nice
Album: Superfly: Rhythm&Streets (Gangsta Grillz Special Ed.)
Label: Maybach Music/Warner Bros.
Back in ‘97, the great Biggie Smalls opined that, far from buying happiness, Mo Money simply led to Mo Problems. Masspike Miles, however, sees things a little differently – as he explains on new mixtape single We Made It, fame and fortune have treated him pretty damn well thus far. A soulful, chime-laced instrumental by Twice As Nice sets an appropriately swanky mood for this high-rolling track, which finds the R&B up-and-comer celebrating his triumphs over adversity, and reveling in the luxuries his hard work has earned him. Unsurprisingly, Maybach Music bawse
boss Rick Ross makes an appearance, indulging in some characteristically luxurious stunting on the front, and up-and-comer Smoke Bulga rounds out the guest lineup, managing to sound gangster despite comparing his clips to pretty-boy vampire Edward Cullen. Is this triumphant track hit material, or is Masspike Miles celebrating prematurely? I’ll leave that for you to decide. If you’re digging it, stay tuned for the latest on Miles’ Superfly: Rhythm&Streets (Gangsta Grillz Special Ed.), which has yet to receive a solid drop date.

I really strongly believe that there is a place for Masspike Miles in this crowded industry. His image is sorta anti R&B singer and he has the vocal chops to be more than just a nice hook singer. Time will tell, but records like this are a good starting point.

Pretty good. Probably would have picked someone else other than Rick Ross but decent song none the less. The hook is really nice.

RICK ROSS JUST WASN'T THE RIGHT FEATURE FOR THIS... IDK WHAT'S UP WITH HIM DOIN' HIS MONEY, MORE MONEY, SHINNY THINGS AND SOME NICE CARS... FORGETTABLE FLOW OVER SOME REALLY NICE R&B PRODUCTION IS ALL ABOUT LATELY. BUT I'M JUST NOT FEELIN' IT. IDK MAYBE IT'S JUST ME WHO KNOWS. NICE WORK BY Masspike Miles THO.

I agree completely with Z - Masspike has the potential to really become a major player. He can deliver the hooks the industry wants, but still has a unique style. And Ross was made for these cuts, but frankly Smoke Bulga's nothing special. Decent track, nothing great.

Miles's voice shows some range in this and his voice different enough to be remembered. But i got bored listening to this song though, no lie.

Miles def. has hook duties down pat. I'm not so sure he can handle a track by himself. as for Ross, he seems like hes juyst going through the motions here.
