Her delicate and buoyant voice is recognizable from the hooks that she’s written and sung for Jay-Z, Mya and Eve. Although singer Mashonda recently separated from her husband of four years, Swizz Beatz, her erotic new single, No Panties, is a guarantee that she will boundlessly satisfy the next man in her life. Demonstrating her talent as well as her sex appeal, she purrs, “I promise to write you a love song every summer/ I promise to sleep with no panties on for your comfort.” This mid-tempo Drop production offers a sultry pattern of sampled “oohs” and “ahhs” for the Harlem songstress to show listeners her modern-Adina-Howard freakiness. Mashonda will be dropping her new album, The Renovation Series, in the spring of 2009.
DANG! Where Mashonda been at?! This is hot. Drop's production sounds like something Kanye would've belted out, especially judging by the drum kit. I remember Mashonda on "Get No Better", and I remember I felt she didn't leave a lasting skillful impression on my vocally. It looks like she's came along way in these 4-5 years she's been chilling. This has Harlem Soul written all over it. I'm looking forward to more material from her. Too bad Swizzy is missing out on this now. LOL. She's looking right in the picture.
I like the premise and the picture. Deffinatly comfortable! Sexy track. The breakdown b4 the hook should be revamped. It sounds like an after thought. other than that this is something I wouldn't mind listening to.
its def a different feel than what i would expect from her...beaat is straight...i agree wit michaelhannah when he says "I felt she didn't leave a lasting skillful impression on my vocally"...she hasnt shown it yet...but then again swizzy aint the greatest rnb producer around...
Yeah...and let me clarify...I meant before she hadn't left a clear impression of her skills vocally...like there was nothing memorable. But with this song, she did. I will definitely be looking for more of her stuff. Oh, and WOW. Yeah. I'm serious. What is with people not liking female singers just because? That's really silly to me. This is a great track and Mashonda has been in the game for quite a while. Oh, and my bad. I thought you said she didn't have a lot of potential. That's why I laughed. I just re-read what you actually said. My bad.
